After visiting the cemetery, we made our way to the bus stop and went to another destination. Xavier carefully helped me down from the bench, and we both turned our gazes toward the convenience store across the street. The familiar sight brought a strange mix of emotions.
"Thank you so much, Xavi," I said, my voice soft. "Even though it was just for a brief period, I'm genuinely grateful I had the chance to work with you and everyone else at that store."
As I spoke, I felt like my life had undergone a significant transformation—both in good ways and bad. I carried unpleasant memories and injuries, yet I also knew that everyone around me had saved me in their own way. Here I was, living this life, somehow stronger because of it.
