Synopsis
Haha, this is just for fun, inconsistency is my worse friend and best enemy. The cover is indeed ai because I couldn’t find any artists that drew dragons in the style I liked. if I find any digital artists that draw pretty dragons I’ll definitely change it! open to any suggestions I’m also open to any suggestions for the storyline, although it probably won’t be rushed it. I like natural flowing stories~

Chapter 1 - Attempt to escape

The surrounding area was tranquil, peaceful. Even so, an ominous feeling ebbed in every nearby creatures skin. It came from a large cave in the middle of nowhere, sticking out of the ground and surrounded by bushes and lush flowers. Baby dragonets lay unborn inside.

The surrounding area was liquid, but somehow the dragonet was perfectly able to breathe. Her body curled into a ball, loose but firm. A soft scaly tail wrapped around her belly and head. The feeling was claustrophobic, she felt a sudden urge to escape the uncomfortable position.

'How did I get here? What's going on? I need to get out.' the thoughts repeated in her head over and over. Quickly she got annoyed, for she was used to silence. The noise was too unbearable, she quickly gave in and started pushing her way out.

She was curled too tightly in a ball to move around purposefully so she made use of the fat tail clouding her to jab and push at a barrier she couldn't see. Cracking sounded loudly as her tail pushed with increasing force, until finally it fell past the barrier, letting in a slight cold breeze and a bright light.

The light was straining, stressing even. She quickly hid back in her egg, flinching whenever her eyes opened. However, her eyes quickly adjusted to the surroundings, which wasn't much brighter than inside the egg shell. She was a little embarrassed that she may have overreacted.

Now that there was more room to move, She noticed little limbs sticking out the bottom of her torso. They were clumsy but efficient but could do things her tail couldn't. As she pushed sideways the egg cracked more.

Almost there! The newly founded arms and legs strained to use so much force, but were able enough to last just until the egg top shattered. Using my tail is a lot more effective. She observed

Worn out she struggled out the egg and flopped on the hard stone underneath. Surrounding her There were about 5 more eggs a good distance away, All placed on a dangerously high ledge close to the roof of the cave. the eggs were equal distances from each other.

Losing interest she focused on the sneaking hunger in her stomach and opted to find a solution to it. She didn't notice it before, but it felt like she was an empty shell of scales. There was nothing around except rocks, pebbles, eggs, and doom so she turned her attention back to the egg that she just escaped from and looked at the liquid inside.

'Do I eat this? Is there nothing else?' After a moment's hesitation, she slurped up the liquid. It felt thick and slightly jelly-like in her mouth, but overall it was surprisingly tasty. She eagerly finished the rest of it. Once she was content she sat and waited for something to happen. She didn't know what. Just something.

Until that something happened , shevwatched her siblings hatch one by one. Two had cracked their eggs and got their tail out, And one larger egg had already fully hatched. it was a pair of twins; one more vibrant than the other. I was visibly bigger than them. Maybe by a whole head length.

It seemed she lost interest in a lot of things because she also lost interest in that. She grew boring and had just settled in a comfortable, curled position to sleep when there was a big crash outside the cave. She was jerked awake, fear immediately spreading through her body.

The cave was shaped like a foyer, so any light came from an entrance that was out of sight. The light from outside disappeared. Something was blocking it.

Her eyes widened, and suddenly the cave didn't seem so big.

The dragon's horns brushed the top of the roof making an eerie scratching sound. Without even standing up all the way.

She stopped approaching, assessing the situation. Looking at me and my siblings. The glare in her eyes made the baby dragonet feel in danger one second and then protected the next.

'Is this my mom? Why does she look so mad? Did one of us do something wrong?'

She seemingly calmed down but the dragonet kept her guard up until mom curled around herself and went to bed.

'What a weirdo! Moodswing much?'

Feeling salty that her sleep was disturbed for no reason she also curled up and went to bed, not sparing her siblings any more glances. Her final thought: 'I can't wait to get out of this cave!'
