"You can leave it there. I'll eat later," Ethan muttered under Alisa's urging gaze.
Her smile faded slightly at his words, but before he could dodge, she smacked him on the back of the head.
"If I say you eat, you eat! I'm trying to be a good sister here instead of beating your ass for putting yourself in danger. Eat up!" Alisa snapped, her eyes cold as she flexed her hand, indicating that he would receive another beating if he didn't comply.
Ethan felt more at ease seeing her act this way. Her earlier behaviour had simply felt strange and unnatural.
"I'm still a patient," Ethan grumbled as he rubbed the back of his neck to ease the pain.
Alisa scoffed and said nothing more, allowing him to eat his food in peace.
Once he had finished struggling through the unpalatable meal, he stood up, intending to leave the room, but Alisa's words stopped him in his tracks.
"Our old man sneaked into your room yesterday to check on your recovery. Do you want to see him?"
