The next day, the chirping of birds and the scent of flowers did nothing to soothe Elora's irritable mood.

Of all bloody times, the church had chosen today to grace her with its presence.

She relaxed into her pillow and looked at Lia blankly, with a flat expression.

Lia felt she was walking on eggshells, her body tense under her Majesty's gaze.

She felt unlucky to be the one passing this information, mentally warning herself never to play heads or tails with Nalia again—she always loses.

 "Today makes it exactly three days, huh?" Elora muttered with a sigh, slowly pushing herself out of bed.

"Tell the kitchen to make me something sweet for breakfast and call in the maids to prepare me for the day," Elora ordered and shuffled to the bathroom, a two-minute walk dragged out to ten minutes at her pace.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Lia responded and left the room to carry out her orders.
