Chapter 38 - Chapter 38

"Oh no, this is bad," whispered Ethan as he looked at the new group of people who illegally entered inside the academy.

'Something's terrible going to happen, you have to warn the others,' the words of Ash raced through his head. He took out his phone and tried to contact the KDA, but due to the network problem he couldn't.

"Dammit, what the hell am I supposed to do?" he cursed himself under his breath.

Due to being one of the youngest member of the organisation, he was quite inexperienced on how to deal with situations like this one. Just then he saw the other students and professors of the academy approaching the criminal group.

"I will just watch them and keep my distance for now. Hopefully, our squad will arrive in time," he muttered to himself.

"Sir, the machines are set. Should we activate them?" asked a grunt.

Damon thought, before replying with a smirk.

"Wait for my signal," he said and walked towards the group. He thrusted his gloved hands into the pockets of his black overcoat. His long black hair was straightened backwards, showing off his handsome face. He stood proudly before the others, with a mad look in his eyes.

"Excuse me, but who are you? And who gave you the permission to come here like this?" asked Sycamore with hostility.

"My my, no need to be so hasty and rude," said Damon with a calm voice. "I believe I should introduce myself first." By then, the other professors have arrived as well.

"My name is Damon Amara," he said with a proud look in his eyes. "I am the leader of Team- beep beep*

Before he could finish his statement, his earpiece beeped as the cold of voice of Medea pierced through his ears.

"Don't even think about claiming yourself leader you snacc," said the woman, who was still standing near the entrance.

The man gulped and cleared his throat as the others looked at him with confusion.

"My apologies," he said and recomposed himself. "As I was saying, I am.....a formidable member of Team Cosmos."

Most of them couldn't recognise the name while some did, as their eyes widened in horror.

"N-no way," Oak stuttered in disbelief.

"Wait, you are the criminal organisation that I've heard about," said Flint, recalling the havoc they caused in Sinnoh region a few months ago.

"What the hell do you think you're even doing here?!" yelled Trip.

"Whatever you jerks are planning isn't going to work," said Calem, angrily.

The others kept yelling and shouting at them while some kept silent. Paul didn't say anything as he kept glancing at the machines they have set earlier after landing.

'What are those?' he thought, frowning.

"Someone contact the Special forces immediately," said Oak in an orderly tone.

"I've been trying Gramps, but there is some sort of stupid network problem," Gary said annoyingly as he kept tapping his phone.

"There is no signal here too," said Sawyer as he raised his phone.

"Same here," added Goh.

One by one, all of them tried their phone to contact someone, but failed as the signal kept blocking.

Damon laughed seeing the miserable condition of this people. Everyone glared at him and went alert instantly.

"Do you fools really think we came here unprepared?" he asked with venom in his voice. "This place has been our target since the moment it was opened. Now, you people shall bow down before us," he said triumphantly, spreading his hands.

"Stop your stupid drama," an irritated voice of Medea said as she pushed away Damon like a garbage and pointed a device on her wrist towards the others.

"Listen scumbags. We are not fooling around here. We will take each and every valuable thing from this place with us. So if you don't want to get hurt, stand aside," she said in a cold, orderly tone.

"Always to the point, and here I was having some fun," grumbled Damon.

The students and professors just looked at each other with a not-so-afraid expression.

"Oh really? And how are you going to do that?" asked Trip with a sneer.

"There must be a thousand of us. You really think you can take us on like that?" added Aaron, crossing his arms.

"And I thought Barry was stupid," muttered Gary with a smirk.

Damon knew where this was going so, he silently motioned his grunts to activate the machines. They got the message and pulled up the switch, as the radioactive waves started to emit. Paul who noticed this didn't like it at all.

"Stop wasting your time with these fools," he said irritatedly and took out a pokeball.

"Hurry up so we can stop them right now," he further urged the others.

Everyone was hesitant at first, but eventually agreed and took out their pokeballs one by one.

"I agree," nodded Flint.

"They will regret ever coming here in the first place," said Sycamore.

Damon and Medea smirked seeing their futile attempt.

"If I were you, I wouldn't do that," said Damon narrowing his eyes.

"If I were you, I wouldn't ever dare to set my eyes on this place," countered Brock.

"He's right," agreed Cilan as he enlarged a pokeball.

"C'mon out Cinderace," yelled Goh as he threw his Galarian starter's pokeball. Typical expectation was that a bright light will appear and reveal a pokemon inside from it. But what happened next, shocked everyone. The pokeball dropped on the ground and kept rolling, but nothing happened.

"W-what?" Goh stated his surprise as he picked up the ball tried it again.

"What happened? Cinderace, come out," he said, shaking the ball a couple of times.

"Garchomp," yelled Sycamore as he raised his pokeball, but nothing came out. He then examined it and noticed there was a red light beeping on the button of the ball. He pressed it a couple of times, but it wouldn't compress to its smaller size either. It was stuck.

"Infernape," Flint tried similarly and met with the same result as the other two.

"Serperior, come out."

"Steelix."

"Blastoise."

"Sceptile"

"Hydreigon."

Everyone attempted to bring out their pokemon, but none of them were successful in it. Paul glared at the two smirking members of Team Cosmos.

"What are those pathetic machines?!" he yelled, pointing at the two box-like appliances where the grunts were standing as guards. Everyone looked at the object Paul was pointing and tried to add two with two.

"Hmph. Looks like not everyone here is so stupid," said Medea in a boring tone.

"Not pathetic, they are astounding," replied Damon with a proud look. "The waves that are being emitted from it will make the simple process of pokemon coming out of their pokeballs.....disfunctional," he said with a sneer as everyone understood immediately.

"He is bluffing," muttered Gary as he stared at Blastoise's pokeball, which looked like it was struggling to get out, but couldn't.

Ethan, who was watching the conversation from a distance, took out his Typhlosion's pokeball and enlarged. It wasn't shaking or beeping a red light and was perfectly fine.

'Just as I thought. Every member of KDA has an advanced function in their pokeballs, which cancels any sort of disturbing waves like that,' he thought and frowned. 'But even so, everyone here is going to face the effects of it. I can't take them alone either.'

He looked behind and saw the rest of the students swarming and gazing in this direction with curiosity. They were clueless about what was going on.

"Least I could do is warn them," he said and dashed towards them as fast as he could.

"We need to destroy those machines," said Rowan, alertly.

"Not so fast," Damon said and snapped his fingers. Immediately all the grunts went into positions with a pokeball in their hands.

"I thought you said the pokemons-" started professor Elm when Medea interrupted.

"Do you really think we are idiots like you? Our pokeballs will work perfectly fine even with those waves," she said, irritatedly.

Damon snapped his fingers again as all the grunts took the signal and enlarged their pokeballs. Unlike the others, severals bright lights materialised into some strong and powerful pokemons. All of them cried and roared in unison, sending a huge shockwave throughout the campus as everyone took the initial warning from it.

"Tch....not good," Paul gritted.

"Professor Oak, what are we going to do?" asked Birch worryingly.

"I-I don't know," he said. Even the Kanto Professor was speechless and motionless in this situation.

"Oh I know what you can do," said Damon stepping forward.

"Co-operate with us," he said with a smiling face before turning it into an evil grin.

"If you want to live, that is."

After getting the urgent message from the main KDA branch of Kanto, the Kalos branch gathered their units and immediately rushed to the location of the World Academy.

There was now a huge crowd accumulated infront of the academy. People started gathering when they sensed that something was wrong.

"Use Hyper Beam."

Several of the officers commanded their pokemon as the powerful beams were fired together at the entrance. But it was futile when they saw the attacks disintegrating into an invisible barrier before even reaching the entrance gate.

"Have you contacted Professor Oak?" asked Agent David to another officer.

"No. In fact, none of the Professors inside are picking up. Its saying they're unreachable for the moment," he replied, while dialing his phone.

"Must be that weird force field around it that's causing the problems," David said thoughtfully.

By then, the news reporters have arrived on the spot as well. They started to live telecast the scene and tried to talk to some of the officers for information.

David sighed. "Let's deal with them first. Meanwhile, contact the Kanto branch and inform them about everything," he said to the officer who just nodded.

"If this is Team Cosmos's doing, it's a major deal," he muttered while walking away.

On the top of the Prism Tower, a bright light flashed briefly before it died down at once. Three individuals were revealed to be standing atop of it at this very moment.

Ash sat down in exhaustion after that long teleportation. It even drained some of Mewtwo's energy as he needed to borrow some of Ash's aura for it.

"Pikapi?" asked the rodent, a little worried.

"I am fine," the raven haired said as he stood up. "It was even tougher than I thought it was," Ash said while standing up.

"You always tend to have a habit of making rash decisions," Mewtwo stated, a bit annoyingly as Pikachu snickered in agreement.

"Yeah yeah, you can lecture me later," Ash grumbled and looked around.

The lights on the top of the tower wasn't on for some reason so, Ash was hidden in the dark. The city was sparkling beautifully even more in the night time. It was busy with the crowded Kalosians and foreigners on the street. But tonight, it was more crowded than usual.

The Academy was situated a bit far away from there, but it wasn't impossible to see it from the tallest tower of Lumiose city.

He looked around, squinting his eyes until the academy came into his vision. There was some sort of distortion outside of it. On the inside, it was quite impossible to see.

"Lets go quick," Ash said as he took out a pokeball. He enlarged it and let out his Sinnoh flying type ace pokemon. Staraptor gave a cry after materialising. Fortunately, this bird pokemon of his was still back at the HQ so, he bought it with him.

He got on its back and pointed at the location of their destination. The predator pokemon nodded and bolted towards it with high speed. Pikachu was on his shoulder and Mewtwo followed them from behind.

Within a minute, they were hovering above the academy. Ash looked down and saw the huge gathering of students. He couldn't tell anything for sure, but they all seemed nervous for some reason. He moved his eyes from them and noticed the new group of people as he clenched his fists angrily.

Men and women in black uniform were gathering the students. They have already taken most of the pokeballs and now raiding the dorms of the students for all valuable items including the pokeballs too. He could see some of the pokemon who were outside of their pokeballs captured and locked in a cage. Anyone who would dare to resist will be scared by the criminal's vicious pokemons.

"These filthy humans," growled Mewtwo as its eyes glowed blue.

Ash kept his calm and spectated further around the campus. He saw a battleship at one end where all the stolen things were being boarded on. Some machines were placed near it. By the looks of it, it was probably one of those devices that prevented a pokemon from coming out of its pokeball.

He suddenly remembered seeing some officers of the Kalos branch force trying to get into the academy, which for some reason, they couldn't. He took out his phone and opened the scanning application. He held it forward and almost immediately, it picked up a very strong magnetic force field from the area.

'That explains the network problem,' thought Ash.

"Mewtwo, use Shadow Ball," Ash suddenly commanded, pointing forward. The genetic pokemon looked confused.

"On what?" it asked.

"Anywhere. I want to see something," he replied.

Mewtwo frowned a bit, but obliged anyway as he formed a purple sphere in one of its hands and threw it at a perfect accuracy.

Right before their eyes, the Shadow Ball disintegrated into an invisible wall. Mewtwo and Pikachu was surprised while Ash nodded affirmatively.

"Just as I thought. They activated some sort of strong magnetic force field around this area," said Ash, speculately. He thought something deeply and then looked at the Psychic type.

"Mewtwo, I need you to go and search around this entire area carefully. I have a feeling they have men outside too. If you also find the devices that's causing this, destroy them," said Ash in a collected way.

"I can do that," said the Psychic and then looked at Ash with a frown.

"And how exactly are you going to deal with this," it said, pointing downwards at the chaos the offenders were causing.

Ash closed his eyes and smiled. "I got this, trust me. Meet me in the academy when you are done," he said.

"It is decided then," Mewtwo said and started to teleport away before it suddenly stopped.

"And Ash."

"Yeah?"

"Don't get yourself killed."

The boy just nervously laughed at the comment as the cloned version of Mew vanished.

"Pikapi pikaa chu?"

"Yes. I have a plan to get inside," replied Ash with nod as he rubbed his chin in a thoughtful manner.

"Since electro magnetic fields are strongly opposed to electricity so, we need to land a massive attack on one definite spot of the shield. It will momentarily stay open before closing itself again. We will enter right that moment," he explained the plan.

"Pika pika," the little mouse said, buffing its chest proudly. Ash chuckled and petted him.

"Of course you are going to do it, but I doubt only your Thunder would do the thing," he said as the rodent's ears slumped down in disappointment. Ash smiled. "We will go beyond that."

Pikachu's ears perked up as it squealed in excitement, realising what its trainer meant.

Both trainer and pokemon closed their eyes, concentrating their strength, aura and power that's deep inside. Ash rested his hands on the rodent's head and shared some of his aura. Pikachu cheeks started to crackle with deadly electricity, as the energy kept changing its colour from yellow to blue constantly. Staraptor grew nervous from it, but stayed brave, trusting them.

With a leap, Pikachu jumped into the night sky, as deep clouds started to surround them with thunderous booms.

"Now, Pikachu," yelled Ash as he opened his eyes, now flaring with blue aura.

"Pika," the mouse opened its eyes too which had the similar glow, his body crackling with blue and powerful electricity.

"Use Fusion Bolt."
