Chapter 32 - 29. The War Ends

In one sector of war.

A hybrid of trench and wall, made of mud was seen.

In the trenches were the riflemen of the Dominion, while on the mud wall were the archers of sparks empire.

Charging the walls were hordes of undead, followed by a small company of about 100 elite undead soldiers (pretty easy to spot as they were the only ones wearing armour, also yes, I know a company is only about a 100 units, but this is undead, it makes sense for them to have larger companies).

On a cruedly made watchtower, a two soldiers, one from sparks and the other from dominion, raised a red flag.

Seeing the red flag, the spark archer immediately condensed their beads behind them, transferring their mana into the tips of their arrows, before launching them, destroying waves of low level undead in each volley.

The riflemen were not to be outdone, condesing their magic beads into a socket of their rifles, forming mana bullets (no need to mines when you have mana), shooting at the horde. Although they shot much less, they only targeted elite undead that the archers had difficulty killing, making great contributions.

However, the undead hordes could not be defeated by firepower, at least not the firepower of this magnitude. Like savage beasts(no offense to lexatric), they used their bony claws to penetrate the mud walls, forming a ramp for other undead, specifically the elite undead to get on the walls.

Gerald Vindel who is still alive, immediately roared seeing this, "archers, retreat and blow up the walls, riflemen prepare your bayonets, guards, prepare to fight in the trenches, now move move move".

The archers and the riflemen immediately stopped shooting hearing his orders, the archers retreating and the riflemen taking out short blades and attaching them to their rifles, preparing for possibly their last close combat.

The moment the archers retreated, the bombs hidden in the mud walls immediately detonated by the mana signal, pulverizing the undead ramps, and the nearby undead.

But without the walls, the rest of the undead infantry charged forward. The riflemen met them in the trenches, begining trench warfare, they had previously dug Underground tunnels connecting to each other, with some empty spaces in between, forming a complex underground maze.

Each soldier was given a map cruedly made from paper and charcoal. With the help of the maze, the undead were quickly seperated and taken out, forming a casualty ration of 1 to 30.

However, using consumption against undead was no different from a dying struggle, with no use except a bit of delay.

All soldiers understood this, that's why the maze was never meant to have an exit when it was made, because rather than running from enemies causing unnecessary casualties, it was better to fight to the death and take down as many as possible.

In a tunnel, a riflemen blasted three undeads only to be killed by a rusty blade thrown by one that survived the blast.

In one end of the maze, an archer looked at the endless undead in front of him, then looked at the wall behind him, quickly made up his mind, and shot and arrow condensed from all his mana upwards. The arrow blasted on the roof, leading to the collapse of that end of the maze, burying the archer with his enemies.

Battles like these were staged throughout the maze, throught the entire front line, even with the support from Dominion, the undead flood could only be stopped by a wall made of flesh and blood of soldiers.

Gerald held a long sword, donning his golden armour for what he believed to be the last time (nahh he will be fine, I took time to name him after all, or will he?), he was currently in deepest part of the maze, with him was a werewolf that he did not know that name of.

His werewolf companion wielded a glave, but seems to be currently unable to use mana due to an attribute problem.

They both stood side by side, looking at the waves of undead charging towards them. Mustering up thier courage, they charged towards the undead.

Gerald swung his saber horizontal, cutting give undead in half, "where do you think we go after death?".

The Werewolf positioned his glave, impaling several undead, crushing their bones to powder, "I do not know where you souls go, but ours go to the promised sanctuary"

"And where is that?"

"That is where our ancestors went and we will, there are endless grassland, endless forests, for all types of beastmen, never ending prey, never ending duels for us to constantly battle"

"Seems like a nice place "

"From there, we watch our descendents, using our souls to protect them when they are in danger"

At this point, thay had cleared a bloody (or bony) path towards the exit, yet none were willing to abandon the soldiers who died for them.

Gerald's golden armour was already half shattered, his left arm limp and broken. Werewolf's armour was completely shattered, along with his glave, now he was fighting with only his claws and Instincts.

At this moment, a loud sound as if the roar of a thousand beasts echoed throughout the battle line.

With the sound, came hundreds of millions of beasts, from small rodents to large titan bears, launching a beast tide towards the undead.

The battle line was continuously pushed back to the capital of Noid empire being besieged by beasts.

Gerald and that werewolf were also saved, though unconscious once confirming they were out of danger.

Noid empire also knew that the war has already been streched out for too long, so they offered to negotiate peace with the three powers.

The three powers, also tired from war, agreed.

The war....was over, all that was left was to sign the treaty, however, this is also where second war would began , a war fought by words, diplomacy, threats and most importantly resources.

(The first arc is done i think, thanks for all the support you guys have shown, now all that's left is for me to look up some good war treaties, and finally piece together and original, also doesn't that werewolf sound familiar)

(NOW, to the important thing, for all the support, i shall bestow two rewards to you guys)

(FIRST, the right to create a new custom game, I believe we all once had the dream of creating our own games, so here is your chance, you can't play it but hey it's your game. The most likes will win.)

(SECOND, the right to create a faction, it can only be small to mid scale, you can specify its name, strength, motive, current resources etc, but i will not take anything too powerful. The most likes will win.)

(Also, I have finally made the Emberyn Culture, it will slowly be incorporated in future chapter, so stay tuned)
