Chapter 341 Harmless Pranks
Lucia immediately straightened up when she heard the reproach in Aleshia's voice. She stammered, her voice robotic, "I-I don't know what you mean. I didn't do anything."
Lucia's voice sounded strange to Aleshia, and she could tell that she was not acting like her usual self. On top of that, she could feel Lucia shaking on top of her head. Her actions only served to confirm Aleshia's suspicion. In a more disapproving tone, she repeated, "What did you do to that poor girl?"
After several seconds that felt like minutes under Aleshia's intense glare, which seemed to burn a deep hole inside her, Lucia finally deflated and admitted to what she had done, but threw out a few excuses to defend herself. "You know what she was like, right? She was such a scaredy-cat, didn't you say that yourself? All I did was follow her around."
However, upon receiving an even scarier and more threatening glare from Aleshia, it was clear that she did not appreciate Lucia making excuses, even if they were valid. Aleshia was looking for the truth, and under the weight of Aleshia's intense gaze, Lucia understood that and revealed, "It was only a few harmless pranks, I swear. They didn't hurt her or anyone else."
"That still doesn't explain why she fainted when she looked at us," Aleshia countered, but she gave up on that line of questioning, remembering how frightened Fayre was of Lucia. After giving the problem some more consideration, Aleshia said, "Fine, I suppose as long as you apologize for frightening her and for those pranks you pulled, then you two should be good."
Aleshia walked over to the fainted girl and gently tucked her back into the cot, carefully wrapping the sheets around her. It was the least she could do. After making sure she was comfortable, Aleshia left the room, feeling a bit lost about what to do next. Just then, a group of her friends came by.
As the group approached her, they waved, and Tristan greeted her. After some small talk, he suddenly brought up a topic. "Hey, we heard you might be leaving us soon," Tristan said as the group gathered closer around her. Miya, Tray, and Em were also with him this time.
Aleshia was confused. She had only shared her plans the day before, which made her wonder how they could know about it. She asked, "Wait, how do you all know about that? I don't remember discussing it with any of you yet."
"We have our ways," Tristan said ominously. However, the suspense he was creating was interrupted when Em asked, "So why are you leaving this place?"
