Chapter 340 - Strange Display

Chapter 340 Strange Display

The next morning, Aleshia found she was still lying on the floor. Thanks to this realization, she knew Lucia wasn't teaching today. She slowly and unsteadily pulled herself up, feeling the stiffness in her limbs along with the aches and pains from spending many hours doing paperwork. Aleshia was surprised that she could feel the stiffness. The sensations she usually experienced were typically lessened or dulled. 'This is painful,' she thought.

Aleshia performed some light stretches to loosen her muscles and alleviate the aches and stiffness. During her routine, it seemed that Lucia had woken up from the movement and greeted her. "Good morning! It looks like the paperwork really took a toll on you if you're resorting to doing stretches," Lucia commented. She then offered to provide some healing, which Aleshia gladly accepted.

As a glow of light surrounded her, Aleshia felt the discomfort leave her body. "Now that's taken care of, I wonder what we should do today," she pondered. As she thought about her plans, she realized that one of the people she had treated might be recovering and waking up today, and it might be someone she knew by name.

To prepare for the occasion, Aleshia got ready and patted herself down to smooth out the wrinkles that had gathered on her clothes. After making herself look presentable, she walked over to the cured room, some stiffness still lingering in her stride.

However, what she had envisioned did not come true, and all the preparation was for nothing as everyone remained in their cots asleep, except for the empty one that undoubtedly belonged to Rebel. Since she was there, she took the opportunity to have Lucia heal each of them while she cleaned them up.

Once she finished, she headed for the door. However, as she reached to open it, a figure covered in sheets slowly rose from the cot, drawing Aleshia's attention. As the figure stood up, Aleshia struggled to recall their name. However, once she saw her face, she remembered that it was Fayre and how adamant Fayre had been about the correct pronunciation.

Initially, the girl sat quietly, taking in her surroundings. She rubbed her eyes and looked in Aleshia's direction. As their eyes locked, something unexpected happened. The girl, Fayre, shrieked in hysteria and fell back into the cot, having fainted. Aleshia was befuddled by such a reaction. Had she accidentally scared or offended her? While she pondered the reasons behind the girl's response, she heard Lucia snickering from above. Aleshia looked up to see the witch hat bubbling over with laughter. At its strange display, she asked, "Did you do something?"
