And then, the two bullies tried to retaliate at Roel, but Roel was, as Kazaki would say, 3 steps ahead of them and had beaten them up to a pulp. Kazaki and the girl, Aife Bathilda, were watching the scene with awe, with Kazaki becoming positive at Roel. "Yup, my friend here is tough..."
In desperation, one of the two bullies attempted to throw Aife's necklace away, but Kazaki catches it.
Aife was holding her anger but didn't release it because she didn't want to cause any trouble.
Because of that , the two bullies, mostly battered and bruised ran away in fear.
"And don't do that ever again, idiots!" Roel shouted at them as some sort of farewell for them.
Aife snapped and was about to chase the two bullies, but Roel held her.
Kazaki then used Identification, an A-ranked ability, to find out more about Aife, only to find out that she, who may look like a boy because of her hairstyle, was a girl, and the necklace was holding her anger and making her relax, as well as her name being Aife Bathilda. But when Kazaki snapped out of it, he saw that Roel was holding her by her chest, so he got behind him and said, "She is a girl."
There was a moment of silence.
As Roel let her go, she turned around and snatched the necklace from Kazaki's hand, before slapping the shit out of Roel.
"Hey! Ouch!" Roel responded in pain.
As Kazaki watches in horror standing on the side, he thinks, "Damn, she is something else."
"You bastard!" Aife scowled at Roel.
She kept on hitting Roel.
"Hey! Stop it!" Roel tried to block her attacks with his hands and arms.
"Calm down, miss," Kazaki said to Aife.
But it didn't work.
So, he put the necklace on her neck, causing her anger to go down. "What happened here?" Aife asked while not remembering what just happened.
"You hit me a lot…" Roel responded while feeling the pain on his face and arms. "…ouch…"
Aife then quickly apologized to him, but Kazaki assured. "It's okay, miss."
"Yeah, this necklace keeps me from raging out," Aife replied while looking at her special necklace.
"How?" Roel asked.
"I'll explain."
The three of them went to a restaurant-like tavern down the block so Aife would explain about her necklace.
There, she explained to them that her necklace holds the ability called Suppression of Rage. It reduces anger and keeps her calm in some situations. Her mother was also a berserker, like herself. She was in Seven Knights order during the Great Demon army's invasion in 1056 SD (SD means Second Deed, and this happened Deed age was measured every 1,000 years); the year now was 1070 SD, and Roel and Kazaki were reborn into infants in the year 1060 SD. She was known to be brutal, and no enemy could escape her. Roel and Kazaki are both amazed and fascinated by that.
"Wow…"
"Amazing."
Aife then nodded. "Yes, and I was mostly picked on by other kids to see if they could make me release my rage by taking the necklace."
"What?" Roel responded with shock and alert. "That's not nice!" Kazaki: "Those kids had no respect for you at all."
"Yeah…" Aife nodded, "…So, who are you two?"
"My name is Kazaki Kazan," Kazaki replied.
"My name is Roel Kale," Roel added, "Nice to meet you."
Roel then offered a handshake to Aife, but Kazaki didn't do/
Aife then accepted. "My name is Aife Bathilda, the daughter of Ava Bathilda."
After that, they became friends.
Once they had finished their simple snack mean and paid for it, they continued on with their conversation. Aife asked the two boys about their families' social standing and class.
"I came from a noble family," Roel responded.
"I am from a peasant family," Kazaki added.
"Oh," Aife replied back, "So you two are friends, right?"
"Yes, we are," Kazaki replied with a nod.
"That's great. It's a bit weird for those who were from different social classes to be friends."
"Yeah, it was," Roel responded, "but we don't mind."
