CHAPTER 143 : THE AMBUSH
"I am coming." Eleanora said even before Christian could defy.
"No-"
"You need me more than you think." Eleanora was way too calm about this.
Thus Lance, Mason, Christian and Elenaora moved out of the penthouse, speeding dangerously towards the highway.
The highway looked like a warzone by the time Christian's convoy arrived.
Rain hammered violently against black SUVs while gunfire echoed through the darkness ahead. Smoke curled upward from overturned vehicles. One Laurent car burned near the barricade, shattered glass reflecting beneath flashing headlights.
Inside Christian's vehicle, the atmosphere remained suffocatingly tense.
"You are staying inside the car." Christian looked toward Eleanora sharply for what was probably the fifth time in ten minutes.
"No." She replied, typing furiously over her laptop.
"That wasn't a suggestion."
