Kaido's growl rolled like thunder across the ruined town. The dust around him spiraled upward as his body began to change. Scales crawled up his arms, horns jutted from his head, and his muscles swelled like living steel. His dragon aura burned bright blue, turning the night sky into a blazing storm of fire and lightning.
"Enough games," Kaido snarled, his voice half-dragon, half-man. "You wanted a real fight, brat—here it is!"
Yuta grinned, his eyes flashing. Here it was, the reason he trained so hard. "About time you got serious."
The ground shattered beneath Kaido's step as he launched forward. His kanabo came down like a meteor. Yuta dodged just in time, the weapon smashing into the earth and creating a crater the size of a building. The shockwave alone blew apart everything within reach—houses, trees, and stone walls scattered like leaves in a hurricane.
Yuta blinked away in a flicker of speed, appearing behind Kaido. His fist glowed with Ryou, and he smashed it into Kaido's back. The blow sent sparks and scales flying, but Kaido barely flinched this time.
Kaido turned sharply and swung his kanabo again. Yuta tried to block, but the sheer force sent him flying through several buildings, leaving a long trail of dust and destruction. He rolled and stopped just in time to avoid a massive lightning strike that tore through the sky where he had been standing.
Rika's scarf protected him back there, absorbing most of the damage, yet he was hurt. His reverse cursed technique worked overtime to heal him.
Kaido landed before him, flames and smoke surrounding his monstrous figure. "What's wrong? Out of tricks already?"
Yuta spat some blood and smirked. "You wish."
He vanished again, his scarf flashing blue as it moved on its own, wrapping around him defensively, pouring more power into Rika's Scarf.
He figured that Kaido was using Future Sight; otherwise, knowing what he would do after a time skip would be impossible. He had to focus on defense if that was the case.
"Here, try this one." Yuta slammed both fists together, and his least-used power, the Hana Hana no Mi, activated—forming multiple hands around Kaido, growing out of his own body.
Not attacking him but rather sticking to him. Kaido didn't get it, what the brat was trying to do—at least until it hit him.
The feeling of suffocation and weakness, like someone squeezing away his stamina, his Haki, all his power. He felt the weakness spreading through him.
"What!" His eyes darted back to those hands, only to find golden ROFA lightning lingering in them.
Weakening him.
Usually, ROFA worked like a charm on Devil Fruit users—it's just that the amount needed to make it usable against a Yonko was quite large.
So, Yuta learned how to use his ROFA ability with the Hana Hana no Mi in his free time, grinding away until he could get it right.
The idea was to passively weaken the enemy until he could end the fight. However, it was much easier said than done. Using ROFA at that level burned too much Hero Time.
Not to mention, doing so with the Hana Hana no Mi was hard. His efficiency wasn't enough to completely stop Kaido from using his Devil Fruit powers like Seastone might do, but he could weaken the monster for sure—at the cost of his HT.
Kaido staggered from the immense weakening looming over his body. Those damn hands around him were the cause. He had experienced this feeling before.
It was that damn brat's power. This was the exact reason he almost got knocked out back in Zou.
"I've had enough of this…" Suddenly, monstrous Haki emerged from Kaido's body, completely overwhelming the delicate concentration Yuta had over his Hana Hana technique.
There's a saying that Haki is the strongest power on the sea. Conqueror's Haki, if strong enough, can even suppress a Devil Fruit's power.
Kaido proved it as all the hands with ROFA power disappeared the moment his Conqueror's Haki flared.
"Annoying brat!" he roared.
Kaido tried to land another hit, but Yuta was fast enough to dodge. His Time Skip ability made him untouchable for brief moments—like a ghost dancing through Kaido's storm.
Still, Kaido's attacks were relentless. His kanabo swung with a speed that tore the air apart. Each miss created a blast wave strong enough to uproot trees and fling boulders into the distance. Yuta kept moving, ducking, weaving, and striking whenever he found an opening.
His punches and kicks glowed with Ryou, bursting with internal power. Every time they connected, Kaido grunted in pain. Tiny cracks started to form on his scales.
It was working; however, it wasn't enough to take him down. And he didn't have unlimited time.
The fight tore through Okobore Town. Fires spread everywhere, the ground split apart, and mountains in the distance trembled from their clashes.
Law's crew and the Straw Hats could only watch in awe.
"Who's winning and who's losing?" Franky shouted, his hair blown back by the shockwaves.
Usopp ducked behind a broken wall. "Hmm, guys, perhaps this is the part where we get out of here, you know!"
Only Maki there knew that Yuta couldn't win. If he could, then he wouldn't stretch the fight this long. While unaware of his Hero Time, Maki knew that Yuta couldn't use his powers infinitely. So he always tried to end the fight as soon as possible. The fact that the match wasn't over yet meant Yuta most likely couldn't do it.
"For once, I agree with your assessment, Sniper. We need to go."
"Ah! Really?" Usopp asked in surprise, not expecting her to actually agree.
Back at the fight, Law had sneakily taken Luffy away from all the mess.
Kaido finally roared, lightning bursting from his mouth. The beam scorched the earth, chasing Yuta as he blinked from one spot to another. But Kaido was fast too—he predicted Yuta's movement and swung his kanabo just as Yuta reappeared. The weapon grazed his shoulder, sending him tumbling backward.
Yuta gritted his teeth, landing hard. Most of the damage was negated by Rika's Scarf, and what it couldn't negate was healed by Yuta's RTC.
He looked up and laughed. "That almost got me."
Kaido's grin widened. "Then maybe this one will!" He rushed forward, fists and weapon striking like thunderclaps.
Yuta this time didn't back away. He gathered his power and threw a punch of his own. Their blows collided midair, creating shockwaves that split clouds and sent fire raining from above. The land itself began to crumble under their feet.
As soon as the collision ended, Yuta activated Time Skip to bypass Kaido's defenses.
Yuta's Ryou punches hammered Kaido's chest and abdomen, while Kaido's kanabo strike almost connected where Yuta appeared. However, before it could hit, Yuta reversed time and was gone.
Kaido staggered a few steps, coughing up blood. That punch almost destroyed his organs.
When they finally separated, Kaido was bruised and breathing hard, smoke rising from his body. Blood oozed out, but at the same time, his cheat-like body was already repairing itself.
Yuta seemed in a much better state, however, he was increasingly running out of stamina. HT was one thing, but his own stamina cost was too much in this fight.
"Seems like I have to find another way," Yuta snarked. He knew he couldn't win this one. So it was time to get out of there.
