"Oh, I already have a whole backstory for this outfit," Wuxie added, brushing imaginary dust off his polished boots as he started for the door. He gave them a conspiratorial smirk over his shoulder. "But I'll save it for the victory speech."
Dan blinked slowly. "Victory speech? What is that, some kind of… post-battle war chant?"
Minjun frowned. "Or a ceremonial challenge? Sounds like something from the Abyssal court, but… more ridiculous."
Wuxie smirked. "Nah, it's just when the main character wins and gives an epic monologue before the credits roll."
Dan and Minjun exchanged a look.
There it was again - that look. The one they used whenever Wuxie started talking like he had swallowed a dictionary from another dimension.
Wuxie glanced at them, grinning. "Don't worry about it. You'll get it when the season finale hits."
Both Dan and Minjun just stared. Minjun muttered, "Season finale? I swear, half of what he says sounds like cursed prophecy."
