"Two turned vampires were caught trying to sneak into the Kingdom's border yesterday night," the Military general reported.
"They have been apprehended, what should we do with them, Your Majesty?" The military general Celrean asked dutifully.
"Were they with weapons or anything?" Eiravyn asked, his lips lifted to form a lazy smile.
"No, Your Majesty." The military general answered his king.
"Keep them in confinement for now, we need to know who turned them into vampires." Eiravyn assigned his Military general.
Celrean bowed his head low, as he took his leave from the king's study after reporting.
Eiravyn reclined one elbow against his study cushion, giving off a casual and relaxed look with no ounce of tension in his body, he checked his email as he sort for the one that was most important to the kingdom, he stumbled on one email.
Eiravyn's green expressionless eyes darkened when he saw an mail from Lord Chamberlain with regards of 'Your Majesty, please consider Lady Ava Rivers as your queen.'
Another shameless elder has been bold and persistent enough to send him this mail he thought, "It seems the recent death of their fellow council members was not enough scare for them to back off." He thought with a smirk.
Their high priest had seen a prophecy and the prophecy was announced to the whole of Dark Shade Kingdom.
The prophecy was further interpreted as it was unclear that Eiravyn destined bride had been born in the human realm 20 years ago, but despite knowing this facts the members of the council were still persistently demanding him to take their daughter as his queen.
Eiravyn deleted the email without reading it, just like how he had deleted countless number of such email.
He pinched the roof of his nose as a familiar anger swell inside him, he is irritated that his Right hand man had sent him this mail along with other important emails, he was supposed to filter through his email before sending them to him directly.
He dialed his Right hand man number, his phone rang for a while before it was answered on the other end, once he answered he said,
"Meet me in my study right now!" Eiravyn cut the call immediately without giving him the chance to respond.
~In a room on the third floor of the royal house~
"Where are you going, we just got started?" The girl Caspian picked at a night club yesterday night asked him in a whiny voice while she moved the comforted from her body to expose her right pale leg, tempting him to stay longer.
The girl he could not remember her name reached for him as she tried to pull him for a kiss, wanting him to stay with her for a little longer.
He looked at the girl's seductive smile, Caspian felt the desire to fuck her senseless again, while he fought with the urge to pounce on her and make her scream in ecstasy, but Caspian quickly shaked his head dispelling any lust he felt as he reminded himself he had things he needs to do.
Caspian groaned in frustration while he buttoned up his jeans trouser,
"Duty calls my fair lady, let's finish this when I come back." Caspian said in a husky and sexy voice as he gave her a lingering kiss, his tongue exploring every corner of her mouth.
Caspian breathed in deeply while inching away from her slowly, the girl bit her lower lips shyly as her gaze went down temptingly in her last attempt to keep him for another round of carnal pleasure but Caspian grabbed his shirt and pulled it over his head.
He winked at her playfully before turning to leave the room, he said "Save those thoughts for tonight when I come back, Honeybun I will make it up to you."
Caspian knew the reason why his king was calling him was because of the email he sent to him with regards of his prospective bride Ava Rivers, he also know that there was nothing he could do to change his mind because he also knows about the prophecy, he just had to send the email since the council of elders had been pressuring him because they could not face the king directly, they had turned to him. It was exhausting for him as he felt he was betraying his king by sending the email but he had no other option as it was his duty, he thought with a sigh.
Firstly, a little background
Eiravyn was the Vampire king of Dark shade kingdom ever since the death of his parents, he was forced to take over the throne they had left behind for him at an early age, his parent died a mysterious death as no one till now has seen their corpse or skeletons since over centuries of their passing.
He was starting to wonder if they had vanished in thin air, his late father was the third king and ruler of Dark shade Kindom and he had fallen at first sight with the queen of the magical realm, some called it fate that his father had been opportune to meet his one true mate.
But many claimed it was Ill-fated relationship to begin with, There was no way a vampire and a witch could ever collide but it had happened as they were so in love with each other.
Long ago in the vampire realm, witches as well as wizards were associated with vampirism due to their dealings with unclean powers and pacts with the devil,
The concepts adds a complex layer to the relationship between vampires and witches causing them to view each other as an adversary, later on witches as well as wizards were depicted as a source of food for vampires, with their magical blood and energy being particularly potent and desirable making them become sort after by various vampires with the sole aim to possess their powers and magic.
So, when the previous king initiated a mate bond with the previous queen of the magical realm, many had thought it was a political marriage that the king just wanted to fully have assess to her blood and become powerful but when he had performed magical rites and blood bond to officially make her his mate, as well as equals, they had been surprised to see the previous ruthless king turn into a total softie.
The previous king had also created a rule that on no account should any vampire drink blood from any witch or wizard without their consent or approval.

Although, vampires were not fated to have a chosen mate as they can only form a mate bond through magical rites or blood bond Eiravyn was an exception, the day he was born a prophecy was born as well, a prophecy to guide him into making the right decisions, Eiravyn had been destined to meet his fated mate at the right time. It was said that the on the day of his birth, Goddess Lilith of the blood moon had appeared and blessed him with his mate.
Despite the fact that there was prophecy surrounding him, and his description as a cold hearted and dangerous guy everyone should avoid, yet the she-vampires were still crazy about him, each one of them thinking they will be the one to thaw his icy and cold hearts and claim the position as his queen.
Caspian knows that Eiravyn was not a womanizer, after all they had grown up together,
They are together, trained together, went to school together, and also competed together. When Eiravyn took over the throne, Caspian was appointed as his Right hand man and he supported him unconditionally.
Eiravyn took over the kingdom at the age of sixteen that is beside his vampire age since vampires stop aging when they enter their youth.
The then sixteen years old Eiravyn was the best warrior in the whole of Dark Shade Kingdom, he was great in his academics, he was also a great wizard as he could perform magic without saying any spell because of the blood that runs through his veins making him a being with extraordinary strength as the witch's magical essence amplifies the vampire's innate ability creating an unstoppable force, making him the most powerful and strongest vampire king in the history of vampires existence.
Caspian stood by Eiravyn side and helped him through all the challenges he first experienced as a young king, with one of the challenges being the women that was constantly thrown on his bed, to tempt him into making them his queen.
Calling Eiravyn the most eligible bachelor in the whole of Dark Shade kingdom is a gross understatement. With women throwing themselves at him claiming that they just want to have his baby after that they would leave him alone.
Eiravyn had never allowed any she-vampires the so called title of his girlfriend or lover, and wife(queen) is out of the question, but that did discourage ambitious vampires with high ranks from trying to match make Eiravyn with their daughters or cousins.
Unfortunately for them, Eiravyn was not moved by an endless stream of potential brides throwing themselves at him, if at all he wanted to bed any one of them, he those so without leaving behind any evidence as he never bed a girl two times in a roll, once he was done with you he discards you immediately that is his rule.
