Chapter 6 - ##Teacher X

---

The boy hesitated for a moment. The deepest image of Uncle Wolf in his mind was undoubtedly that of an invincible warrior. The old wolf in front of him seemed to have one foot in the grave. "You've got the wrong person."

Logan Howlett was stunned for a moment, then his eyes drifted. He quickly tidied up the inside of the car and turned to leave.

"I won't admit it. You are Wolverine."

Seeing his huge reaction, Logan was sure that the decadent man in front of him was Uncle Wolf. "I've been hearing your stories since I was a kid. X-Men Wolverine, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."

"I don't know about those things, kid. You've got the wrong person."

Logan Howlett didn't dare look at the boy and said, "Please step aside."

"I wanted to attend Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters when I was young, but since the X-Men never returned, the school closed down."

Rojo didn't step aside and continued talking.

"Are you a mutant?"

This time, Logan was surprised to hear that and finally turned his attention to Rojo. The young man had a handsome face with sharp contours and deep eyes, giving people a sophisticated, direct gaze.

"Yes."

"A teenager."

Logan Howlett was stunned. It had been a long time since he had seen a young mutant. People said mutants were dead, he finally let him go and pushed the boy away, saying, "Get out of here quickly. You shouldn't come to me. If they find you, you don't know what will happen. Go away!"

Rojo looked dejected. "Uncle Wolf, a mutant alone can't survive in this world."

Rojo sighed, his eyes cloudy.

"Sorry, kid, I can't do anything. You can go."

Logan Howlett closed his eyes, his eyes cloudy, and turned to leave.

Suddenly, a passing truck crashed violently as it ran over the curb. The huge water pipe carried by the truck slipped, turned sideways, and hit Rojo on the side of the road.

Boom!

Rojo didn't react to the sudden situation and didn't dodge immediately. Looking at the huge water pipe that was about to hit him, he could only raise his hand to block it.

However, in the next second, a tall figure stopped in front of Rojo before the water pipe fell and pushed the water pipe aside with all his strength.

The huge water pipe was two meters long and half a meter wide. It made a loud noise when it hit the ground. Due to the dim light, many people couldn't see clearly what had happened.

"Logan?"

Rojo clearly saw that the figure in front of him was Logan Howlett. He was breathing heavily, and the bulging veins in his arms had not disappeared.

"Be careful, don't come to me again."

Logan Howlett gasped. The moment now had left him a little tired.

Maybe because he felt he hadn't been cruel enough, before leaving, Uncle Wolf turned his head again and said in a deep voice: "My son, Wolverine is dead."

Rojo stood silently on the side of the road, watching the disappearing figure on the horizon, silently thinking about the last words of the wolf in his heart before leaving.

He wasn't surprised by Uncle Wolf's performance. During this period, Uncle Wolf was no longer the majestic Wolverine he once was. He had become an alcoholic, indulging in alcohol and drinks all day long.

He had gone from hero to miserable coward, a coward who had lost hope in life.

The tragic experience had completely defeated him.

Even if he had the ability to change something, Uncle Wolf wouldn't get up but would choose to continue lying down and immersing himself in the pleasure provided by alcohol.

Rojo thought about what he felt. He lowered his head and rolled up his sleeve. In front of his left forearm, a black rune mark appeared on his skin, showing the shape of a "wolverine" with a star.

"Uncle Wolf's superpower was successfully learned."

He realized that just now Uncle Wolf used his superpower in front of him to resist the giant water pipe.

And he acquired superpowers, which was considered an initiative. When he came to see Uncle Wolf, it was with the purpose of learning.

One of the conditions to trigger learning and evolution is to observe the user and demonstrate their abilities before learning.

For example, just now Uncle Wolf used a superpower, and Rojo naturally learned this ability.

He left the busy streets and plunged into the dark, deserted alleys, where he calmed down.

Star points appeared before his eyes, connected in series. They were Uncle Wolf's genetic sequence, but the light emitted by the star points was relatively weak.

This means that Rojo is immature in mastering this ability.

But even being immature, he felt subtle changes in his own strength.

"Don't rush, you have plenty of time."

Rojo noted down Uncle Wolf's license plate number, knowing he shouldn't rush.

Now Uncle Wolf wouldn't trust anyone, nor help anyone. Uncle Wolf is sick, not only physically but also mentally.

The border between the United States and Mexico is in an abandoned factory located near the train tracks.

The black Chrysler entered the abandoned factory. Logan Howlett got out of the car, opened the factory door, and entered.

The old factory building, leaking with wind, was filled with shelves and various household utensils, as well as TVs, sofas, and microwaves.

"Who!?"

In the back of the factory, a bald man with pale skin, like an albino patient, raised a shotgun and carefully hid behind the sofa.

"Caliban, it's me, Logan."

Logan Howlett ignored Caliban, took off his suit, went to the fridge, took out a cold beer, and drank.

The figure of the mutant boy he met in Santa Fe kept flashing in his mind. He shook his head vigorously, trying to forget him.

"You're finally willing to come back. Where's the medicine?" It's already gone. You should think of a solution soon."

Caliban sighed in relief, put down the shotgun, walked behind Logan, and murmured, "He's been talking about you lately. You better go see him, Charles. The situation is very bad. That old man will kill us sooner or later."

"You're a bit nervous too, Caliban. Have a drink to sober up."

Logan Howlett said fiercely. He drank half a bottle of beer before putting it in Caliban's hand, looking dejected.

Then, he left the abandoned factory building, went out the back door, and walked to a huge water tower nearby.

The gigantic water tower was rusty and dilapidated from the weather and sun. There were several steel pillars around it that prevented the water tower from falling.

"Teacher? Are you sleeping?"

Logan opened the round gate of the water tower and entered. A sense of suffocating heat immediately overwhelmed him. It's not an exaggeration to describe the environment here as a rat hole. The water tank was exposed to the sun every day, and even the water tank was exposed to the sun every day. There were few decent pieces of furniture, only a bed, a desk, and some plants.

"New life, new hope. He's here, he's here."

In the center of the water tank, an old bald man sat in a wheelchair, spinning in circles, murmuring words, and his expression was dull, as if he had gone mad and had Alzheimer's disease.

If Rojo were here, he would surely recognize him.

The decrepit old man in front of him was the once-famous Teacher X.

"Teacher, what are you talking about?"

Seeing the teacher's demented appearance, Logan sighed, picked him up, and put him on the bed.

Suddenly, the teacher stretched out his hand, held him, and murmured: "Logan. The new life and new friends of Logan are special."

He comforted him a few times, secretly took a tranquilizer from a box, and gave the teacher a shot in the wrist.

Then he sat in the chair beside him and said: "Guess who I met today, a child."

In the last ten years, there had been no new mutants.

The teacher calmed down and stopped babbling, quietly listening to Uncle Wolf's words.

"But he mentioned Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."

Logan seemed complicated.

"That was a long time ago. It seems like it's been a long time since we heard anyone mention Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."

The teacher spoke, very sober, no longer mad, and became gentle.

"Why aren't you mad?"

Logan smiled.

"I'm always sober and normal, but sometimes I get very confused." The teacher coughed a few times and asked: "Where is that child?"

Logan hesitated for a moment before finishing speaking. Then he lowered his head and looked at his phone. Due to his nearsightedness, he brought his eyes closer to be able to read the words on it clearly.

"That's good."

The teacher looked deeply at Uncle Wolf and said: "Logan, you should wear a pair of glasses, you're old."

Logan rubbed his sore eyes, felt sleepy, and yawned.

He got up and covered the teacher with a quilt, "Teacher, go to bed early."

"Logan, don't lose hope."

Charles spoke with the same vicissitudes of life in his sunken, old eyes, "Don't give up."

"Teacher, go to bed early."

Logan hesitated, but finally closed the door and left.
