It would be a lie to say he wasn't tempted since in games this could mean leveling up faster but this was reality and he didn't know what would happen.

Hearing this, Li Wei was relieved, but still he didn't believe her completely.
"Who are you?" he inquired once again.

"You are the Goddess of Death?" Li Wei looked at her with shock; he never thought the goddess would look like an 18-year-old girl.

Li Wei wanted to say he didn't accept the quest.
But suddenly, the temperature of the room plummeted, and he couldn't help but shiver, feeling the chill running down his spine.
It was as if if he said what he wanted, it wouldn't end well for him.
'No, I can't let XinXin think less of me; even if I have to die, I won't succumb to a threat,' he thought with determination.
"I didn't accept the quest; it was the system's fault," he stated with a resolute look.
To his surprise, the Goddess of Death nodded in agreement.
"Yes, that's what I'm saying; you have accepted my quest, right?" she said with a half-smile as she summoned her pitch-black scythe with an ominous aura.
'Hey, you are pretending to not hear what I said, right? right?' Li Wei complained in his heart.
"Yes, I accepted it," he replied grudgingly, forgetting all of his determination in a second.
Well, what else could he do? If he pisses off the goddess of death, he won't be able to live for too long.
"Yes, you have accepted my quest, and now you will receive a new system upgrade." The goddess smiled with satisfaction.
"A system upgrade?" Li Wei was stunned.
