Zeras blitzed forward in the next second, appearing before a cage.
With lightning-fast movement, he swiped the card on the cage as it slowly opened,
Blitzing around the place, he opened all the cages, releasing all the genetically modified beasts that were present within.
Zeras arrived at the last cage, and he opened it, when he suddenly felt powerful beastly snarls behind him.
Looking back, gigantic beasts could be seen, with the smallest about a meter in height.
These were genetically modified beasts that were more than three times stronger than they were before.
He saw them immediately close in on him, wanting nothing but to rip him apart.
His face changed, and he hurriedly swiped the card on the door at the end of the hall, running inside just as the door shut with a loud bang.
By the side of his legs was a large claw that had been severed by the gate's closing.
If it had met him, it would have been incredibly fatal.
"Phew, now I just need to wait here and let the beasts do their job,"
Zeras muttered with a mocking smirk as he sat down on the ground in the empty room, waiting.
This was his plan all along:
Since he couldn't fight all the guards that would be deployed.
Then he simply released the feral genetically modified beast, which would kill anything on sight, and he could use them to take care of the guard units.
Then he'll just snoop in at the end, reaping the benefits of the slaughter that was about to happen.
"Pah, pah, pah, Vroom vroom..."
The sound of bullets rang out in the next second, and he muttered to himself:
"It has begun."

25 figures, each armed to the teeth with guns and knives and in durable metallic armor, all moved with coordinated speed in the direction of the lab "4C".
A man standing at the front of the group, wearing a red-colored battle suit with a particularly large plasma gun in his hand, immediately raised his hand, signaling for the group to stop.
Alex looked at his watch.
He could see a red dot moving with speed to the off-limits area and pursued, the group following behind him.
Arriving before the large gate with a cross mark, he brought out a purple card just like the one with Zeras and swiped.
The door opened, and they quickly barged in, but what they saw next made a chill run down their spine.
Gigantic beasts with horrific forms, straight from their wildest nightmares, filled the area, and the group barging in immediately drew their attention.
Alex immediately tried swapping the card on the door, in a bid to escape, as he knew just how powerful the beasts were and their almost nil chance of survival.
But the notification rang out:
"The door needs 20 minutes to be opened, due to security measures."
"Shit!"
"Open fire..."
The group immediately cocked their guns as beams of different colors of light moved towards the beast, which also pounced on them in return.
A brutal battle between a group of trained soldiers and a pack of genetically modified beasts followed.
Blood splashed into the air as a soldier had his head torn off by a leopard-like beast with exceptionally huge fangs.
The beast crushed the head in his mouth in the next second as it moved towards the next soldier, pinning him down and immediately heading for the kill.
But just before that happened,
A red plasma bullet pierced towards the beast's head, blowing open a large hole, and it collapsed to the ground...dead.
"Get the fuck up and keep fucking shooting, you fucking fool!"
Alex screamed at the fallen soldier, who immediately rose and continued shooting.
They retreated as they did, but one time or another, a beast would swoop in, killing one of them as the corpses between both sides rapidly piled up.
Alex clenched his teeth in fury.
Never would he have thought the ordinary Infiltrator they were chasing would have released all the genetically modified beasts in the place.
Normally, he would have been extra careful about barging into an off-limits area, but due to the base being at peace for so many years, he had slowly lost his sharp edge and become more lax.
Seeing the body of his team pile beneath his feet made him shudder as the thoughts of death filled his mind.
His team slowly fell one by one, and soon he was the only one left.
And he was faced with two beasts.
Shooting out a beam of destructive light, it accurately moved towards one the beast's heart killing it on the spot, but trying to shoot the next one, he figured out the gun wouldn't shoot.
It already run out of energy.
"Shit.."
He cursed, bringing out a dagger from his pocket and held it tightly staring at the gigantic lion-like beasts.
A powerful face-down occurred between the two before they both pounced toward each other.
Alex fought bravely slashing around the beast's body but he was also dealt damage as he was repeatedly slammed around by the beast's claw, each wound spurting out blood.
The battle was extremely brutal and crazy, but he was unrelenting as even though suffering more damage, he went for a suicide attack, allowing the beast to bite his shoulder while he used the opportunity to stab it at its chest, piercing into its hearts.
The Lion-like beast delivered a painful roar as blood spilled out from its chest before collapsing on the ground, dead.
The man fell on his two knees as he breathed out hardly no doubt one step into the grave.

Zeras felt the gun shooting slowly calmed down and eventually stopped.
He waited for about 10 more minutes just to confirm everyone was truly dead before swiping the card on the metal door and poking his head out.
Right in front of him were the dead bodies of beasts and humans with different parts of the body reaped apart into different pieces.
Guts spilled everywhere but his attention focused on the center of the gory mess where kneeled a man.
His body had been brutally disfigured with his entire arm torn off, along with some part of his skull and ribs showing.
Walking towards the man, Zeras stared at him from about 3 meters away.
Alex stared at the one they were chasing after and managed to reduce his entire squad to nothing without even fighting them physically at all, but disbelieve was etched on his face looking at the kid who barely seemed above 18.
Slowly, that disblieve turned to a smile.
"To think, I, Alex Mercer, will fall to a kid. But for some strange reasons, I'm very happy."
"You have limitless potential boy but unfortunately... you'll be dying too, and soon come to meet me in hell."
The man said with a sinister smile as he slowly fell on the ground with a thud...dead!
