After the revelation from the mechanical voice any leisure shown would cost me huge set back. I need to focus on gathering energy and the time wasted by the bug should be recovered as soon as possible.
With this thought I started my focused meditation once more. I was a tree which meant there was no need for wasting my time on eating, sleeping or doing other activities that a normal person would have to do. I could focus all of my time on meditating. This would surely help me get on the pace and recover from my below average position right now.
As I was in a deep focused state of meditation, something disturbed me once more. Annoyed I tried to look at what was going on and suddenly the sound of something huge being slammed into the ground could be heard. The sound was like that of a huge boulder boulder being slammed into the ground and the noise was getting louder and louder.
THUMP.....THUMP...THUMP...THUMP....
Violent shaking of the ground around me disturbed me from my focused state. The shaking was so bad, I nearly got uprooted. My peaceful meditation was forcefully interrupted and it pissed me off badly. I had already been delayed by the bug and now this. This should not be a coincidence right. Is this whole world trying delay me or what.
The sound accompanied by the shaking was so violent that I thought it was a earthquake but can we even call it a earthquake. It had a distinct sound that was loud and it didnt feel like it was happening underground. Nevertheless the shaking was there.
After some time the sound and shaking stopped altogether. With a pause, shaking of the ground stopped. The thumping sound associated with the shaking had also stopped mysteriously. Something felt amiss and it prompted me to open my eyes.
A huge eyeball that was equal to my height or even bigger welcomed me. It was looking at me concentrated and there was no blinking. I was startled out of my mind.
I could not fathom the size of the beast whose eyeball was bigger than me. I was not that big. But the eyeball being bigger than me set a panic in my heart. I had body of a tree but my soul was that of a human. I could feel every emotion. And this eyeball made me feel fear.
A cold freezing breeze blew past me. It was probably the breath of the beast that suddenly appeared out of nowhere but why was it cold though. It felt like the beast was directly breathing at me. Such beast could kill me with its breath. How did the level 8 kill all those fierce beasts on one day. A sense of dread washed all over me.
I wanted to run the fuck out of here as fast as possible and as far as possible but I was unable to do so. And something inside my head, my instinct was constantly ringing like it was saying that if i even moved a single leaf voluntarily I would die then and there for a second time. A bug before and now a beast many times larger than myself, why was I not allowed a time of peaceful meditation.
As I was thinking about ways to keep myself safe in this situation, something unexpected happened. I was even thinking of poking the eyeball with my branches but thanked myself for not doing it. Poking its eye ball would have enraged it and made it stomp me flat.
But after a while the huge eyeball went backwards at first and then it rose. It was like the beast was trying to stand on its feet. Its movements were groggy probably the side effect of being so large. I would never like to be that large. So large that it impeded my movements.
After the beast was standing, I could take a glimpse at how huge the beast really was. And it was big really really big. But the beast looked little familiar. I had seen it many times and was even a fan of it. I had joined a fan club that discussed its power and talked about how it was more superior and powerfull than its counterparts.
Its appearance and bodily features were strikngly similar to a godzilla, a fictional beast that I was fond of back when I was at earth. Even though I was a fan of the beast, I used to make fun of people for being scared of the beast and usually criticized others for not even having common sense to do things I had in my mind. Why fear a fictional beast that was born out of imagination of another human. It was not like that beast would break the screen and come out to hunt us in the real world.
At this moment I wanted to slap my previous self so bad. Did godzilla took offense to what I had previously said and directly came to me for revenge. I was nearly dead from its breath. And if it took action, would I be alive.
I often used to say I would have done this if I had been there. I could not even move at its mere presence. I would have been frozen in fear even if I had a body of a human. How could I even do anything to it.
Now if i was given a chance I would slap my previous self half to death. This beast could end me with its breath and I was absolutely helpless infront of it. The beast was a living breathing incarnate of chaos, destruction and death. The movies about it had not even touched the surface of what this beast was capable of. Its presence would have killed millions and it would not even have to lift a finger.
There was nothing I could do. Poking its eyes was a bad idea and now that it was standing, I could not even do it anymore. Running, I was unable. Killing it, impossible.
Thus I just accepted my fate, closed my eyes and waited for the beast to take its action. This life has also gone in vain. And if there was another life awaiting me, I would like to have my body back.
