Chapter 208: Isshiki Makes A Move
Isshiki was being hunted by an unknown shinobi. Whatever weapon they used had hurt him and even stopped him from fighting back.
No matter where he ran, someone always followed. It had been four days since the hunt began, and he was exhausted.
Raiken had obtained magic that could open dimensions. Wherever Isshiki escaped, he left a trail, and the ninja hunting him were armed with seals strong enough to handle him.
All Isshiki could do was run. He desperately needed a new vessel, since his current body was too weak to face these shinobi.
Suddenly, Uchiha Fugaku appeared nearby. Isshiki tried to trap him before he could raise an alarm. A sealing technique activated around Fugaku as soon as he stepped within range, chakra weaving through the air and locking him in place before he could react.
Fugaku fought back right away. His Sharingan flared, and his chakra surged against the binding with such strength that Isshiki hesitated.
Isshiki cursed himself. Fugaku was stronger than he expected, and he was almost overpowered. He realized he needed a new approach.
"Wait," Isshiki said, trying to sound like an ally. "I am not your enemy."
Fugaku stopped attacking, but kept his Sharingan active as he watched Isshiki.
"You are the thing Konoha has been hunting," said Fugaku. "Isshiki Otsutsuki."
"I am," said Isshiki, and there was almost a pleading note in his voice, a tone he hadn't used in years. He was surprised that someone knew who he was. "Let me go. I can give you anything, power, whatever you want."
Fugaku's jaw tightened.
"You were almost sealed by me. How can I trust you?" he said.
"If you know about me, then you know we have power too," said Isshiki. "In return, I'll give you anything you want, power beyond what you have now."
For the first time, he felt something he had kept hidden: anger toward Raiken.
"Everything," he repeated slowly.
"Everything you want," confirmed Isshiki.
Fugaku circled the trapped Isshiki and looked at Him.
"I want Raiken to suffer," said Fugaku finally. "Not simply die; I want him to lose the things he took from me before he loses anything else. His authority, his family peace. Everything he built while I was left with nothing."
"Although I don't know who Raiken is," said Isshiki. "But you can gain my power if I give you my karma."
"How can I trust you?" said Fugaku. "If you dare to sign a seal contract, then I will let you go."
"You are wise not to trust me freely," he said. "Very well, lets sign the contract."
A contract array formed between them, violet symbols floating in the air, tying Isshiki's promise to the suffering Fugaku wanted. As soon as the contract was sealed, Fugaku released the trap, and Isshiki, now free, pressed two fingers to Fugaku's forehead without waiting.
As Uchiha Fugaku, he had access to a newly developed Uzumaki Sealing Contract.
….
At first, he didn't feel anything. But when Isshiki touched him, a burning heat and pain spread through his skin, and he wanted to curse Isshiki.
But remembering Isshiki had signed a sealing contract, Fugaku tried to hold on with all his will.
His chakra reserves grew beyond anything he had ever known, and his Sharingan became so sharp that the world seemed to slow down around him. He tried a technique on a fallen tree trunk and watched it disintegrate, feeling something inside him that had been empty for years finally fill up.
'This was worth it,' he thought, flexing his fingers, which now buzzed with new strength. 'No matter what happens next, this alone was worth it.'
But then another pain shot through his head.
'What's happening?' he wondered, as fear finally broke through.
Isshiki, now settled deep within the mark, sifted through Fugaku's memories, searching for whatever information was there. He learned the village layout, patrol routes, the location of the Hiruzen family compound, and Danzo's modest home at the district's edge. These names and relationships meant nothing to Isshiki, but they brought pain to the man whose grudge had made this possible.
Then he saw Kaguya; she was no longer the Jinchuuriki of the Ten-Tails, and a big smile appeared on Fugaku's face.
Fugaku's real self lost consciousness, and Isshiki took control of his body; even his body mutated, similar to an Otsutsuki. With white skin, horns and eyes that were Byakugan and Kokugan.
"Thank you for the body," said Isshiki, he never thought Isshiki body are 100 suitable for him. "I will honor our contract."
…..
The attack on the Sarutobi compound happened at dusk. Fugaku's body slipped past the outer guards easily, moving like a respected clan member whose presence didn't raise any alarm.
Hiruzen's grandson was the target, and only the old man's instincts, sharpened over decades and still strong despite retirement, made the attack survivable. He pushed the boy behind him just before the strike hit, taking the blow himself and sliding across the courtyard stones, his ribs cracking from the impact.
"Run to the guard post," Hiruzen commanded, already forming defensive seals despite the pain screaming through his side.
The boy ran, screaming for help, and the alarm brought enough people that Isshiki pulled back before finishing the job.
Isshiki hadn't planned to kill either of them… not yet. A dead former Hokage would bring grief and closure. But a wounded, humiliated one would stir up something more useful: anger aimed at the village leaders who failed to protect him.
He managed to overpower the Hokage and killed Hiruzen's son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild.
The second attack on Danzo's prison home made Danzo lose everything. His wife and child were killed.
Danzo and Hiruzen almost went crazy with what just happened.
…..
It did not take long for witnesses to identify the attacker.
Witnesses from both attacks described the same face, clan mark, and voice. By the next morning, the name Uchiha Fugaku was spreading through Konoha, and he was named a traitor.
Danzo's reaction, when the confirmation reached him, became very angry.
"An Uchiha," he said, his voice carrying a flatness more dangerous than shouting would have been. "It was always going to be an Uchiha eventually. I should have known better than to believe that clan had actually changed."
Madara slowly uncrossed his arms, his composure straining under an accusation aimed at a clan he had spent decades building and had only recently begun to genuinely protect again.
"Careful," said Madara, his voice low.
"Enough," said Raiken, stepping between them before the tension could ignite into something neither of them could take back. "Nobody destroys anyone today. Not until we understand what actually happened here."
"Danzo," said Raiken, standing before him with Madara close behind. "I believe Fugaku was controlled by Isshiki
He turned to Kaguya, who had been standing quietly at the edge of the crowd.
"Grandma, what the witness said about the horn and white skin, is it because that Karma Mark?" asked Raken.
"Yes Raiken, that is one of our clan's special abilities," confirmed Kaguya.
...
All of Konoha was shocked by what had happened. Now, they were searching for Fugaku, who was suspected of being controlled by an enemy.
Fugaku's grandfather led the search to find his grandson.
They found Fugaku three hours later, thanks to Raiken, who bought the information from Live Stream Mall.
They arrived with the Hokage, Danzo, and Hiruzen.
"Fugaku, what are you doing?" his grandfather asked.
"Fugaku," Hikaku said, his voice cracking a little. Fugaku was one of the young men he had hoped would lead the Uchiha.
Fugaku turned, and for a moment, his eyes looked like his own, wide and afraid before his expression shifted to Isshiki's cold detachment.
"Grandfather," Isshiki said, using the word with clear cruelty. "How fitting that you would be the one to witness this."
"Release him," said Raiken, stepping forward, his Rine Sharingan already active.
"You don't understand what you're asking," Isshiki said. "There is no releasing, only ending and I have no intention of letting that happen easily."
The fight that followed was fast and brutal. Madara moved to block escape routes while Kaguya shouted warnings about the limits of Fugaku's vessel, the chakra reserves it could still use, and the danger of underestimating how much control Isshiki already had.
Raiken pressed forward, using teleports and restraint sigils, trying again and again to pin the body long enough for a clean separation. But Isshiki, desperate and cornered, fought so fiercely that every attempt to capture him alive failed.
After several exchanges, it became clear that containment wasn't possible, not with the time and preparation they had.
Hikaku watched his grandson's body twist and strike with stolen power he no longer recognized. He made a choice that would haunt him for the rest of his life.
He moved to block a strike aimed at Raiken's back, his own chakra blade meeting Fugaku's body in the chaos. The angle was disastrous, and the result was nothing like what he intended.
The blade struck Fugaku's chest. Everything stopped, Fugaku Grandfather mouth opened wide
Isshiki's grip on the body loosened instantly, the borrowed control slipping as the vessel began to fail beneath him, and for one final, terrible moment, Fugaku's own eyes surfaced completely, wide and lucid and entirely his own.
Blood bubbled from his mouth as he looked up at his grandfather, whose hands shook around the blade he never meant to drive in so deep.
"Grandfather," Fugaku said, the word barely more than a whisper. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me."
His eyes moved past Hikaku, finding Raiken, then Madara, then the blurred shapes of everyone gathered around.
"Forgive me," he said again, even quieter, and then his body went still in his grandfather's arms. The Karma mark faded from his skin as whatever was left of Isshiki's presence vanished with the vessel that had carried it.
Everyone looked at the dead Fugaku and Raiken didn't even look at him, he was busy using his magic to make sure Isshiki truly died.
