Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Transmigration and Rebirth

To be honest, Akashi was feeling really frustrated. As a fan of 2D sports anime, he had always admired how those gifted athletes fought hard on the court.

But sadly, in real life, he was completely useless at sports. All he could do was watch sports anime to comfort himself. Bored and with nothing better to do, he decided to rewatch The Prince of Tennis and Kuroko no Basket.

Who would've thought—his vision suddenly went black while watching, and when he came to, he found himself lying in a woman's gentle embrace. Judging from the surroundings and the people talking in the room, he clearly realized he was now in Japan. And he had been reborn as a newborn baby. But as for what world this was, he didn't know.

Akashi Seijurō—that was his new name after being reborn (from now on, the protagonist will be referred to as Akashi). It was a name he knew all too well from his past life.

As the chūnibyō team captain, that image was deeply engraved in everyone's mind. Anyone who had watched Kuroko no Basket wouldn't forget the incredibly powerful and overwhelmingly dramatic former captain of the Generation of Miracles.

At first, Akashi thought it was just a coincidence. He didn't believe he had entered the world of Kuroko no Basket. Although the family he was reborn into seemed extremely wealthy—just like those chaebol families in TV dramas from his past life—he simply figured he had gotten lucky and been reborn into a life he could never have dreamed of before.

Until he turned five, and a synthetic electronic voice suddenly rang in his head: "Template System Activated." That's when Akashi finally realized—he had transmigrated. After all, systems like this always came with transmigration!

After more than a year of exploration, Akashi had more or less figured out the main functions of the system. First, whether it was due to his name or not, the first template he awakened was Akashi Seijurō from Kuroko no Basket, including abilities like the Emperor Eye and the Zone.

As the fusion rate with the template increased, he would gradually master these abilities. And the more his actions aligned with the original Akashi Seijurō, the faster the fusion progressed.

After over a year of effort, his current fusion rate had reached 34%. He was just 16% away from awakening the Emperor Eye. Also, possibly due to the system, even his appearance was starting to closely resemble the Akashi Seijurō he remembered!

This made Akashi nearly certain he had transmigrated into the world of Kuroko no Basket. And very likely, he had taken over the original Akashi Seijurō's body. It seemed that in middle school, he would attend Teikō Junior High and become the captain of the Generation of Miracles.

So, after awakening the system, Akashi started paying close attention to anything related to basketball. But over time, something started to feel off.

People in this world didn't seem all that passionate about basketball. Sure, every middle school had a basketball club, and they did hold Summer Inter-High and Winter Cup. But public interest in the matches was pretty low. That just didn't add up with the logic of a sports anime world.

In a sports anime, the featured sport was always the one people in that world cared about most. It would also be the sport with the fastest growth. But basketball in this world had none of that momentum. It wasn't even as popular as it was in Akashi's previous life. That filled his little head with question marks. He couldn't understand what was going on.

Until one day, he overheard the housekeepers talking. One name they mentioned completely shocked him—Echizen Nanjirō!

That name alone was unforgettable to anyone familiar with sports anime. He was the father of the main character Echizen Ryōma in The Prince of Tennis—the man who stood at the very top of the tennis world!

At that moment, Akashi finally understood the source of all the strange feelings he'd had. This wasn't the world of Kuroko no Basket at all. This was the world of The Prince of Tennis! The infamous world of killer tennis! WTF!

A world he never expected. Who could understand this? Why the hell was Akashi Seijurō appearing in the world of killer tennis?

And on top of that, the system gave him Akashi's template. Shouldn't it have been something like Nanjirō's template instead? But no one could answer that question for him! (Unless Akashi could break the fourth wall, grab the author by the collar, and scream, "What the hell kind of crossover monstrosity are you making!")

Now that things had come to this, Akashi could only accept reality. But just thinking about those scenes from the original story—where a simple tennis match looked like it could destroy the world—made his body shiver.

He used to think Kuroko no Basket was already ridiculous. After all, everyone on the rainbow team had superpowers. But compared to killer tennis, they weren't even on the same level!

The thought gave Akashi a headache. He immediately contacted the butler and asked for information on Japan's tennis world over the past few years. After a full investigation, Akashi finally confirmed—this was definitely the world of The Prince of Tennis. And he was likely in the same year as Tezuka and the others!

That meant there were less than eight years left before the story began. This made Akashi feel a bit pressured. Since he was already in this world, how regretful would it be if he couldn't stand on the same court as those insanely talented players from the original?

From that moment on, Akashi put all his focus on tennis. When his parents heard their only son wanted to play tennis, they were fully supportive. After all, the most popular sport in this world was tennis. Akashi also hired the most professional coach he could find for his beginner training.

With the system subtly reshaping him, Akashi's physical condition improved at a pace visible to the naked eye. Even the professional coach called him a monster-level genius. Later, with support from his family, Akashi invited several retired pro players for practice matches to further improve his tennis skills.

After finishing another intense training session, Akashi gave a command to the system in his mind.

"System, show my current stats panel!"

Name: Akashi Seijurō

Age: 12 years and 14 days

Power: 5.5

Speed: 5

Stamina: 6

Technique: 6

Mental: 9 (Undetectable)

Total: 31.5 (Cannot be measured by normal means)

When fusion exceeds 90%, Absolute Ball Sense will awaken.

Mastered Skills:

1. Emperor Eye (Fusion Bonus) – Can nullify everything, both offense and defense. Sees even the tiniest movement of the opponent, including breathing, heartbeat, sweat, and muscle contraction, allowing instant countermeasures. Can briefly foresee the future. Also capable of discovering an opponent's hidden potential.

2. Basic Tennis – Exceptionally solid fundamentals. Textbook-perfect swings. Allows full use of all five key attributes.

3. Tannhauser Serve – Self-developed based on past life memories. Uses powerful wrist action to slice downward on the toss, creating high-speed spin. The ball barely bounces after landing and skims forward low across the court.

4. Zone (Fusion Bonus) – A special state that brings out 100% of both physical ability and tennis potential.

5. Light Strike (System Starter Gift) – The earliest contact point on the racket, the area with the least shock to the arm, and the spot where maximum power can be unleashed with minimum effort—all three overlap here. This "super sweet spot" creates extremely powerful shots, shining like the sun.

Main Missions:

1. Join a middle school tennis club and become captain.

1. Win the Tokyo Youth Tennis Open.

Reward Skill: Ultra-Wide Defense Range – Greatly expands defensive coverage. Creates a massive spherical defense zone centered on the player, capable of receiving all shots to their half of the court.
