Mrs Whitney cried the more hearing him mention her children. That can only mean he knows so much more than she imagined.
"You don't understand Jack, she was going to kill me if I tried to even get in touch with the family. I had to leave for the sake of everyone. I didn't want more people getting hurt because of me. It was the best thing I could do at the time. At least that was what I thought." Mrs Whitney said and Jack walked closer to her contemplating whether or not to tell her about her children.
"And what do you think now?" He asked her and she sniffed back the tears threatening to fall down her eyes.
"I wished that I stayed back and fought for my children. I wish I wasn't so weak, and stupid. I can only imagine what might have happened now." Mrs Whitney said and Jack exhaled sharply.
"I pray that life will give me the opportunity to see my children once more and correct all the wrong." Mrs Whitney said and broke down in tears.
"I hope so too," Jack said bluntly. Right now he's so confused and will need some time to think of what to do.
"Do you perhaps have any idea where my children might be?" Mrs Whitney asked and Jack became flustered. He stood up and made way to the window.
He really wished he could tell her everything. Where and who are children are, about everything he has on that woman Maria and her evil deeds. But he's afraid she might ruin things for him, he has come too far to let that happen.
"Jack!" She broke into his thoughts, her voice filled with despair.
"No I don't, but I'm almost there. I've been investigating my parents death, and I'm unto something. Once I find the person who killed them, I will sure find your children as well, since she has them." He said and Mrs Whitney nodded her head.
She felt waves of emotions run through her. Guilt, gratitude, hope and shame. Hopefully Jack is able to do something she couldn't do in almost thirty years.
"Thank you Jack, thank you for everything. For coming back for your sister, for trying so hard to find her after all these years. I'm sure your mother must be so proud wherever you are. She asked that you watch and keep your sister safe, and you did just that." Mrs Whitney said her voice cracked. Jack felt emotional and almost cried as well.
"And I'm here to help you with whatever you might need. I was unable to do anything back then, but I that was in the past. I'm no longer afraid and can do something now. Do not hesitate to ask me." Mrs Whitney said.
"Sure!" He said and Mrs Whitney stood up wiping the tears off her eyes.
"And I'm assuming you don't want to tell your sister about any of this for now." Mrs Whitney said and he shook his head.
"No I want to keep it away from her. Let me be the one to tell her myself once the time is right." He said and she nodded her head in agreement.
"Of course, if that's what you wish for." Mrs Whitney said.
"Thank you," Jack said and she walked closer to him, and hugged him.
"It's so nice to see you son," Mrs Whitney patted him on the back trying not to be emotional.
"Thank you for taking good care of my sister all these years." Jack whispered.
"It was the least I could have done." Mrs Whitney said and detached herself.
"I will leave now, please eat your food. You need all the strength you can gather now." Mrs Whitney said and walked out of his room.
She didn't bother going to the dinning hall. She went to the garden so she can cry her heart out. Besides, she can't have Jane see her like this. She would ask her so many questions, she won't be able to keep up.
The following morning, Jane woke up feeling bored. She feels better now and can't wait to have something doing. She has been waiting for Chris to call her. She misses him so much, as well as the kids and Grace.
She can't wait to see them again, in the meantime. She's just going to wait.

Angel stepped into the living room looking all radiant with a lot of maids after her with so many shopping bags. She can't get over the fact that she will be marrying Christopher. It all feels like a dream and she can't wait for the engagement party taking place tomorrow.
"And why do you look like you are coming from a masquerade party? You look absolutely pathetic." Grace said sounding disgusted.
"Grace be nice to her, she's soon to be your brother's wife." Maria scolded her and she scoffed her.
"I honestly cant believe you are buying into this charade. My brother doesnt love her, he's in love with Jane. And we all know it." Grace said and Angel could feel her ear about to fall off.
"Don't tell me this rebellion of yours has to do with that maid. She's nothing to your brother, I will never allow your brother marry someone like that. Just stop this nonsense Grace and embrace Angel." Maria said and Grace shrugged.
"Oh please! I don't even want to be here." Grace said and walked out of the living room. She can't stand those two. She really can't wait for her brother's plan to work so Jane can come back home.
"Mother I will just go talk to her. I'm sure she will see reasons with me if I speak to her." Angel said and Maria rolled her eyes.
"Whatever," she said and walked away. She couldn't care less if she walked on her head. She will find a way to get rid of her very soon.
Angel managed to catch up with Grace who was on her way to the kitchen. She grabbed her hands to stop her from walking further.
"Wait up Grace, there's no need to be in so much hurry. We are going to be in each other faces for so long, so we better get used to each other. Don't worry, I'm not going to have my brother drive you out." Maria said and Grace chuckled.
"You couldn't even do that if you tried." Grace said her words jabbing at Grace's heart.
"I'm going to be your brother's wife very soon, shouldn't you be trying on getting on my good side? Why the hell are you so confident?" Angel was so upset.
"Because I know all of these is nothing but a farce that will soon be over." Grace said and walked up to Angel her steps intimidating. Grace fidgeted and almost tripped.
"Now you listen to me very well you tramp, you are nothing but a cheap slut trying to force your way into this family. Tell me Angel, since the engagement announcement. Has my brother ever spent the night with you?" Grace asked and Angel stood there silent.
"Uhmmm!" She couldn't bring herself to say a word.
"Why the stutter? Did cat caught your tongue? You suddenly can't speak? Does my brother look in anyway happy to marry you? You are so delusional that you can't see what's happening? His heart is and always will be Jane. He doesn't love you anymore Angel. Suck it up." Grace said in a single breathe and made her way out of the kitchen after grabbing a glass of juice.
"Aaarrggghhh!" Angel screamed after her.
"I'm going to make you pay for speaking to me this way you spoilt brat." She cried out.
