Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE: A Damned World

A dark day for all

It had finally come to past, the day that no one thought or expected to come to past. A day of doom.

The clouds had gathered together and blocked every ray of sun from entering the earth. The entire world was in darkness, one darker than any other. Huge bolts of lightning and the powerful and ground shaking sounds of the thunder rumbled all around the earth. The animals ran around having nowhere to go to escape this terrible fate. The wind blew furiously causing the trees to wave in different ways, their leaves and fruits falling of and going in different directions. The leaves withered and the fruits lost all sweetness as they fell to the ground who itself had soften as if it was holding down a river of years from erupting. The earth was in a series of chaos feeling heavier than it had ever been before and nature itself went bizarre as it expressed its distress over the events that occurred. It seemed like the armageddon had finally come to past.

The sound of wailing and crying sounded louder all over the earth as both living and non living all witness the terror that had struck. The smell of their fears filled the atmosphere and the commotion worsened as the clouds were yet to release their anguish. The rumbles sounded louder and more terrifying and the lightning had taken its fury on the trees as it struck at them setting them on fire. The sky looked frightening and the thunder sounded like there was a heavy battle going on in the heavens and that frightened the earth more.

Truly a day for all to fear as the seals that holded the gates of Pergatory had been shattered and the earth was about to take with full force the wrath it was ready to descend.

Yet even with all that was happening, in a forest a little boy is seen as he runs through all the chaos to reach out to the voice that whispered his name repeatedly. The trees and grasses tried to warn him of what was happening yet he seemed not aware of their warnings. With him not listening to their plea, they opted to prevent him from his goal as they did all sorts of things to stop him yet it all proved useless as he would always seem to get away from them. Following the voice, it had led him to a huge cave and he could hear the voice plea for help clearer.

If he had truly been on his senses, the sight of the complete darkness would have scared him and led him to return yet the voice seemed to take over him and swallowing his saliva, he had moved into the cave.

On entering, his eyes could see nothing as the darkness inside was too much. He was shaken by the darkness that seemed to spread like a virus and he started having strange thoughts of bad things that could happen to him here but on hearing the whisper once more, he shook the thoughts away. He hadn't taken light with him yet he seemed to know how to navigate his way through the cave as he followed the voice and finally came to a place inside the cave which had torches and the fire provided light which enabled him to see what was inside. By the end of the rough stony wall on a boulder sat a old man who was chained. His clothes were torn and his head had no hair. He was extremely skinny and looked like he had not eaten for a long time

"How long has he been here?" The little boy thought.

"Help me" the man's voice coming out low and slowly as he struggled to speak.

The boy moved towards the man and was able to see the man clearer. As he looked at him, he couldn't help but feel pity as he asked. "Who could have done this to you?"

"Help me." The man said again.

The boy looked at the chains and saw that they were connected to another boulder at the other end of the room. He walked over and on getting there he could see it attached to a box which was glued to the boulder. The box had strange patterns all over and the end of the chain was hooked to lock in the box. The boy looked at it in confusion as he didn't know what to do to open the box and free the old man. At that moment he heard a voice speak to him. "What? Break heaven and release hell?"

Immediately the words left his lips, the box started shaking furiously as it glowed in a bright light and shattered. As the light disappeared the boy was back in front of the cave and he seemed to have come back to his senses and realized what he had just done. His eyes stared at the horror that displayed in front of him as the cave started changing to something he could not describe but one who brought the worst kind of fear upon him. As if to slap in his face the sin he had committed, the clouds which had been holding their tears poured down a furious flood of rain on the earth and the wind blew heavier.

As the rain fell on him, it felt like thousands of whips and it stinged like hell yet he couldn't move from where he stood completely frozen by fear not only at the horror that stood in front of him but also at the realization of the great sin he had just committed. Tears poured furiously from his eyes yet he made no sound. The shock could have killed any one instantly yet he stood with his hand over his mouth with his entire body trembling.

Fear hit him right in his bones and his heartbeat fastened so much it brought a huge pain to his chest. The air in his lungs almost seized that he found it hard to breathe. The blood had left his face and it paled so much one would think him dead. His legs shook so much he had wet himself. His mind screamed something continuously at him but he couldn't listen, not with what stood in front of him, not with the pain of the fact that he had released the ultimate world terror to the world, not with the pain of knowing he had literally just caused the destruction of this world.

No he couldn't.

He just could not.

Yet for some reason, he didn't know where the strength had come from but even with his trembling and fright.

he was able to listen. Listen to the shout from his mind. Listen to the plea to not stand and watch his life go just like that. He deserved to die, he knew that yet for some reason he had done what his mind begged him to do.

He turned and ran.

He ran with all the strength his legs had left.

All through his race back to where he had come from, everything seemed to try to kill him yet miraculously he was able to escape all without even being aware of the Earth's fury towards him. He hadn't even taken notice of the huge light that was coming towards him at the time and even when it had hit him, he hadn't slowed down.

The earth on its own wept bitterly at the arrival of a day that had not been expected. Cries from kingdoms, villages, towns sounded all over as the creatures of the other realm unleashes their brutality at the living claiming lot of souls. It's a day of great loss for everything that was in the world as the end seemed to have come quicker than they realized or expected. Curses fell all over at the ones that could have been the cause of this terrible dilemma and fate. The world needed protection but seemed to have no way of redemption from this creatures wickedness.

The Armageddon had come to past or so everyone thought.

The little boy after running for so long had finally come out from the forest. All through his run, he had heard everything. The cries, the curses, the suffering and anguish, the consequences of his sin. They tormented him over and over. The earth made no attempt to have a little pity on him. If he had listened to her before then he would not have had this curse on him, maybe then the people would have not have to suffer, maybe the world might have had a chance. But no, he had done it and now will pay dearly for it.

As he stepped out of the forest, his eyes came in view with his village to see it was unharmed.

He could warn them, tell them to hide while they still can. As he ran forward, right in front of his eyes, the horror he had released went past above him and towards his village. Right in front of the little boy's eyes, he saw his village burnt to the floor. In front of his eyes, his sin had taken what he loved the most away from him

In that instant, his eyes went completely black as tears poured seriously from his eyes and he screamed.

"Nooooo!!!!!!!!!!!"

His scream woke him from his nightmare. His breathing was fast and rough and his body was soaked in sweat. His eyes wide open at the realization of it just being a dream. He tried calming down and closed his eyes as he steadied his breathing.

The nightmares had started again and they seemed to have become more frequent.

He opened his eyes after calming down a little though his body still trembled. His sins were coming back to haunt him. No it had always haunted him every single day after that day.

He stood up from the mat he slept on and made to go outside to at least try clearing his thoughts. It was midnight and the sky was still dark. As he moved towards the door, his eyes came across the mirror that hung on the side of the house. He simply stared at what he was seeing.

Staring back at him was a man that looked exactly like him, the only difference was the eyes that stared at him for they where not the color he knew them to be.

They were one with complete darkness.
