It was pouring rain that dey when Jake and his brother were going to their fathers will reading. Thomas his older brother and him didn't really have the best relationship but they weren't exactly the best of friends neither were they enemies,they just saw each other as someone of the past due to the upbringing of their father. Their father was a researcher so he spent most of his Time outside the continent,so they would be the only ones in the whole house since they had no mother. They would stay at the mansion just looking for something to do. They were worst than co-workers who hate each other. They would be like that till Their father would return and he would bring gifts for only Thomas since he was his favourite son. He thought his father hated him and so didn't really think anything of it any more and so he would just return to his room and play games on his PC. Even though his father was wealthy and could hire anyone to handle Household errands,he would have Jake do all of it, like everything in the huge mansion. Jake was always bitter towards his father and he did his best to study hard and soon left the mansion and got a job as a receptionist at a hospital. It wasn't his dream job but it did pay well for him. His brother Thomas due to the influence of his father got a seat in power as one of the political heads governing the city. Jake on the other hand received no such Favour from his father and had to earn everything he had by himself. His remission was cut short as they pulled up at the gates of their late father's mansion.
The mansion was very old at present since it was passed down from generation to generation by his ancestors. Though his father and his grandfather where the only children of their parents and so everything was easily pass down. Jake looked towards his brother and saw a scornful look on his face as he gazed at the structure. He then started moving towards the mansion swiftly.
"Let's get this over with quickly" Thomas said
'Thats the first time in 9 years since his brother talked to him' Jake thought
They both brought out their umbrellas and moved into the building. There they saw their fathers lawyer Mr Chesler. A short old man with a magnifying glass stock under his right brow connected by a gold plated chain going down to his left pocket.
"Have a sit" Mr Chesler said
They both sat down and waited for about a minute for everyone to greet and then Mr Chesler started the will reading.
"For my first and dear son Thomas,I leave my wealth,my shears in PARK KNIGHT INDUSTRY and finally my property in Madrid"
As Jake expected. He knew his father didn't like him so he wouldn't leave him anything. Jake turned and saw the expression on Thomas's face. Thomas tried to contain his smile,But a small evil grin came out. Jake thought he was done with everything and was about to leave when Mr Chesler suddenly spoke
"And for my other son Jack I leave my ancestors mansion"
At first Jake was in shock,his father actually left something for him. He spoke too soon though , when he looked at the state of the mansion he couldn't even sell it and it would take millions to fix it. Just thinking of that he let out a sigh. Just then he heard a sinister laugh coming from Thomas.
"I was shocked father actually left you something,but I wouldn't want this crappy old building you can have it". Thomas said mockingly
Jake was about to reply when Mr Chesler handed him a brown envelope.
"That's the deed to the house young sir, I will be taking my leave now" Mr Chesler said and left for the door
.So did Thomas but not after laughing again at him for his poor luck .Jake sighed sat down on one of the old leather sofa present in the room which mad an odd sound like an old man groaning.
'Everything is weird in this house' Jake thought.
