The sudden sharp pain in Keith's head kept growing and growing until he felt like he wanted to pass out, his body became very weak and he felt his hands starting to shake, he nearly dropped the knife. Cole noticed this and asked, "Hey Keith, are you okay, you don't look too good,". Keith's skin was starting to become paler.
"I'm fine, I think I should head home," Keith said.
"Here, let me take you," Cole offered.
"No, I'll be fine, you two should stay here and enjoy you're evening,"
"No, Cole can take you home," Laura said.
"Don't worry about it, I'll be fine,"
"Are you sure? "Cole asked worried.
"Yeah, I'll be fine, you guys shouldn't worry, "
"Ok, if you say you're fine I'll see you tomorrow,"
"See you," Keith said.
With that Keith headed out if the bar, he was trying hard to keep focus in the road but his head was starting to spin, as he checked his phone to see directions his vision was becoming blurry and he almost dropped his phone. He felt like he wanted to collapse but he pushed on. When he was a few blocks away from us apartment, he saw an alleyway that would half the distance to his house, "Ok I just have to take this.... shortcut,"Keith said.
Keith couldn't see well and had run straight into a six foot five man and fallen to the ground. What is with me and bumping into people today, Keith thought. "Oh!! Sorr....", he stopped talking when he saw the man he had run into turn around, he couldn't make out his face in the dark and his vision had gotten even worse, all he could make out was his blonde hair that could be seen poking out from under his hat and the big trench coat he was wearing, standing in front of him was another man who looked to be about five foot five with very a scrawny features he too was wearing a trench coat. The smaller man was holding out was holding out what looked to be a clear polythene bag with white powder inside. Keith immediately realized what he had just walked into.
The moment the smaller man saw Keith he took off in the opposite direction leaving Keith with the taller man.
"You little piece of shit," the taller man cursed, "You just ruined my 'business deal'," Keith could hear the malice in his voice, "and now you're gonna pay," and with that he reached into his trench coat, pulled out a pistol and pointed it directly at Keith's face. Keith froze in terror.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to, I wasn't looking where I was going, please don't kill me," Keith pleaded.
"Sorry kid, wrong place, wrong time," the man said as he cocked the gun.
Everything was happening so fast that Keith could barely keep up, out of the silence of the night heard a voice say to him, "Be calm and follow your base instincts," Keith didn't know what that voice was but didn't see any other option, all he could do at the moment was cross his arms over his face so that's what he did.
The man just scoffed, "You're only going to make this more painful for yourself, " the man said, "but the sound of your screams will be like music to my ears,"
Then all of a sudden everything slowed down, Keith could hear the bang of the gun an could see the bullet slowly inching toward him, he just shut his eyes.
After his eyes shut, he could feel his energy moving from his body all the way up his arms to his hands, he then heard the bullet shatter in front of his face and everything sped up again, he opened his eyes to see a orange force field had formed from his hands encompassing his whole body in a sphere.
"What the...." the man said and shot another bullet. This time Keith separated his arms and the force field exploded outward and threw the man up in the air and into a dumpster.
"Now run," the voice said. Keith didn't think twice, gathering all his energy he ran out of the alleyway and towards his apartment, he could barely feel his body but just ran and ran, he had no idea how he managed to find his apartment, but he got in locked the door and headed into the room, the moment he reached his room he collapsed into his bed, falling asleep before his head even hit the pillow.
