Chapter 2 - Magika

Hassan felt very sad at the loss of his family, as he remembered his family tears welled up in his eyes, he realized he might never see them again(this wasn't because of his weak mind but his love for the only people he cared about). It might have taken a lot of time for others to accept that they have died in their last life but due to Hassan's weak attachment to his emotions, it wasn't such a difficult taste to come to terms with facts. He thought and there could be no other explanation for him currently being in someone else body.

And as a biology student, he knew brain transplant isn't possible with the current technology of earth.

He started thinking of the future, he knew crying won't help with anything. The first thing that came to mind was learning the language. Hassan racked his brain on how he can learn this new world's language when he can't even move or ask someone to teach him.

He was deep in thoughts when his room's door opened with a bang. Hassan looked toward the door(only using his eyes and not turning his head) and saw a female with the previous stranger, this woman had platinum blonde hair and the pupils of her eyes were unnaturally purple. He assumed they were both his parents, more like parents of the body he currently possessed. It seemed like the man had gone out to call that woman when he went out a few minutes ago.

He thought these people were probably this body's parents.

The lady came and tried to hug Hassan, there was a beautiful smile on her face however the man stopped her. He was worried that she might hurt Hassan, and open up any internal wounds. She understood and restrained herself to only kissing him on his forehead.

She spoke to Hassan but he didn't understand anything she said. Hassan used sign language to tell her that he didn't know her language, and she understood. Hassan was surprised he had never before talked using sign language but he managed to convey his message on his first try.

The lady's smile turned into a sad expression. She thought a little and went out while saying something to the other stranger. The stranger came and sat beside Hassan and put his hand gently on Hassan's chest. suddenly Hassan, felt his chest heat up, the heat spread all across his body.

Hassan felt like he was taking a hot bath, and his whole body relaxed, all his pain reduced. Hassan wondered why the man didn't do this before to reduce his pain, however, he was glad that he did now, the pain was getting annoying.

He also realized one more thing, this man was using some kind of magic which made him happy, because if magic existed then he might be able to go back to his own family.

The man said a few words to Hassan however Hassan didn't understand them, so he didn't know how to react.

The man sighed, with an expression that was a mix of sad and happy.

The lady that had left a few minutes ago came back, with some books and a bowl of porridge-like soup in her hands, as Hassan couldn't move she fed him the soup. Hassan didn't mind it much he had no other option. Hassan was puzzled about what the book might be about but then he realized it was probably a book about the language spoken by these people.

She tried to teach Hassan the language, but she wasn't a teacher so she didn't know how to teach the language properly, so they hired a teacher for him.

-Three months passed-

Hassan has fully recovered from his injuries, and learned most of the language from his teacher steward, he had confirmed that the two strangers were indeed this body's parent. His mother was the daughter of a magician, while his father said he was just a common man. Hassan knew it was a lie but didn't push for answers(how could just any common man magic). He didn't care about this person's background, even if he was the father of this current body.

Hassan also found out that this body's original owner's name was Jacob. He assumed the identity of this Jacob, for now, and was acting as if he lost all his memories.

This was to get the shelter. He knew his parents would assume he has lost his mind if he told them the truth, and would still not abandon him, but he didn't want them to think that way about him.

Jacob *Hassan will be referred to as Jocab and sometimes Hassan* spent most of his time in the library, which was near their house after he healed.

He also asked his father, what was the feeling when he put his hand on Jacob's chest. His father told him that he used magika to soothe his pain, by numbing his nerves. Jacob understood why his father didn't do it before, nerves are too fragile and his father must have been afraid that he might hurt his son, but in the end, his mother convinced his father to do it, because she couldn't bear to see her son in pain.

Jacob didn't spend the whole 3 months only learning the language but also about the outside world. He found out that magic did exist, from Steward his teacher.

His teacher told him that The planet core produced some kind of energy, that could be used by humans, and many other sentient races, and some non-sentient races. This power was called magika and was present all over the world.

Almost everyone in their world wanted to use this power, but it was reserved for only those who were talented.

Many people would just give up if they aren't talented enough. Without talent, it is very hard to absorb magika, and very little magika from the environment is absorbed. If someone was talented they could absorb much more magika than others in the same amount of time talent also affected other areas for example control over elements.

If one wanted to use magika, they had to absorb this magika into their bodies from their environment, and then they could convert it into fire, water, air, and even earth and control it. There are also other elements like lightning, ice, darkness, etc, and some unique elements like space and time (but there wasn't a single mage currently alive who could use space or time element) because those who understood the space and time kept their knowledge a big secret.

The creation of objects with a dense physical body was very taxing, so magicians preferred to control the elements already present in the environment, instead of making their using magika (inside the body magika). It was extremely taxing to make a water bubble out of Magika but not too difficult to collect water vapours from environment to make water bubble.

Jacob only asked one question about magicians, and his teacher told him all this. His teacher had always wanted to be a great magician, and even studied many books regarding magika and magicians. That is the reason he had this much information regarding magika and magicians.

His teacher was one of the unlucky individuals, who weren't talented enough become some great magicians.

This excited Jacob if he had any talent as a magician he could wield magika the power of elements would be under his control. He had been on Earth a planet where magic didn't exist and was only a part of fantasy books he read, so he was excited about learning more about it. He also thought that he might find a way to contact his old world with this mysterious magika's power.
