Chapter 10 - Chapter 9: Confusion

Rami slowly opened his eyes as he caressed his temple because it's aching. Seeming to ease it a bit, he slowly eyed the room where he was.

'Where am I?' He questioned silently to himself.

He smelled the scent of those in a hospital, but he's sure that this place isn't.

The door suddenly opened. To his surprise, with all his handsome self, Dark entered holding a tray of porridge. Finally answering his previous question.

Rami panicked.

Why am I here?

'Did my brothers not know what happened to me or they just let me be and didn't care?' As Rami thinks that, his mood drops, forgetting that his beloved is in front of him.

'Why am I still hoping?' Rami thought.

"Hey, you're awake." Dark said, pulling Rami in his own depressing world.

Rami didn't answer, he just looked at Dark.

The two stared at each other for a while, neither breaking eye contact. It was as if they were under a spell, their interest in one another growing with every passing second. Each became captivated by the other's appearance, their mutual attraction intensifying.

Suddenly, a bang sounded into the room breaking their momentum when the door opened.

Both Rami and Dark cast their attention at the door, embarrassment evident within their eyes.

They both saw Ryuzaki enter the room wearing his usual smile. But this time, his smile is not quite right.

When Ryuzaki saw Rami, who is awake now, he speedily came closer through the bed where Rami was lying.

"You're awake! That's great!!" Ryuzaki exclaimed, then he held Rami's hand.

Ryuzaki was deeply grateful for what Rami had done. By shielding him from the shot, Rami had taken the hit that was meant for him. Ryuzaki was certain that he should have been the one lying there now—likely in critical condition, considering the bullet's trajectory had been aimed straight at his heart.

He didn't know how to express his thankfulness so he just started his usual ramble.

"For what happened yesterday, you don't know how grateful I am and at the same time I'm also very guilty----" Ryu rambled but was stopped when Dark yanked his hand off of Rami's hand.

"You don't need to hold hands. Just talking should be fine." Dark said with his usual cold voice.

Silence surrounds the room.

Ryuzaki nervously laughs.

'What's going on? ' Ryuzaki silently questioned himself.

He is confused and at the same time surprised by Dark's action this time since this is the very first time he experienced this one.

On the other hand, Dark we're also questioning his actions which he did a while ago. He didn't really expect that he would act that way. He also didn't expect that through Ryuzaki's action in holding Rami's hand, his possessiveness surfaced suddenly.

'What is happening to me?' Dark questioned himself.

To ease the situation, Rami began to appease Ryuzaki.

"I'm okay. You don't need to worry." Rami said to Ryuzaki.

"That's great, then," Ryuzaki replied. After saying that, he walked to the small table near the bed to set down the fruit basket he had prepared especially for Rami. He had been holding it the whole time—but completely forgot about it the moment he saw that Rami was awake.

"I bought some fruit for you. I'll just put it here." Ryuzaki said.

Rami just nodded to convey his thanks. Then, he looks at Dark.

"When can I leave?" Rami questioned eagerly towards Dark.

Because now, he really wanted to just leave this hospital, clinic or house as he's not sure where he's at. The wound he received is just a piece of cake 'cause he's already used to it. Actually, he was shot on his shoulder, so it's just a scratch for him.

"Seriously?" A voice of a woman exclaimed after Rami said that.

When Rami turned to see whose voice it was, he saw Amethyst entering—coming in with the other people he didn't recognize.

Amethyst can't believe what she heard. She saw the shot. So, she knows how hurtful it is for a civilian. Now, she heard the person who gets shot asking when he will be discharged? How ridiculous.

Even without glancing at her companions to gauge their reactions, she already knew what they would be. Their shock, worry, and guilt were real. They hadn't expected that someone would take their place to save them—not a complete stranger.

Sure, they wouldn't be surprised or see it as unusual if someone from their own circle did that. But for Rami—someone they barely interacted with and considered a stranger—to do it, that was entirely different.

They genuinely didn't know how to react or what to feel. And now, having heard what the concerned person said— we'll, all hell break loose. They were, in fact, quite angry.

When all of the people who were present finally registered what their thought was all about. They were really surprised with themselves. They are not this kind of person. How come they feel this towards a stranger?

They all just stare at Rami who is 'innocently' lying on the bed.

'What the hell did you do to us?' They all silently questioned Rami. That also includes Dark whose eyes slightly darkened with some unknown emotion.

Rami didn't know and didn't care what the people in the room were thinking or feeling right now. He really just wanted to go home and take a rest.

The wound on his shoulder starts to ache, and this irritates him.

For how he performed something unusual and out of character in front of them. He had already forgotten about it in the back of his mind.

As for being wounded, he simply feels it's normal—something he encounters from time to time—without realizing that it isn't normal at all. So, it's no wonder the others reacted the way they did.
