Chapter 3 - Official Opening! and First Customers

"The war... the war! What about the goblins!?" Dorian stood up and grabbed the collar of an elderly man in a neat black suit.

"Please calm down, sir. The war you speak of has already been resolved. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Chain, the butler here. In case you didn't already know, Master Dorian is currently at the general's residence."

After letting Dorian calm down, Chain continued, "The war with the goblins is over, and the kingdom's general has successfully defeated the goblin king."

"If you would please follow me." Butler Chain walked out of the room and waited for Dorian at the door. Seeing that Butler Chain was waiting for him,

Dorian quickly stood up and followed Butler Chain behind him.

After a five-minute walk, they arrived at a room filled with books, a study table, and a sofa set in the middle to welcome guests.

"Ah, little one, you're awake. How are you? Are you feeling unwell?"

"I'm fine, Sir General. And I'm also 17, or maybe 18." Dorian sat on the sofa and drank the warm tea provided by Mr. Chain.

"Okay, okay, whatever you say. Enough small talk. Let me introduce myself. My name is Glides Flores. You can call me General Glides."

"Now, let's get down to business. This is your magic weapon. Honestly, this is the first time I've seen a magic weapon like this, and it's quite unique in my opinion."

As General Glides sat down, he placed Dorian's rifle on the table.

Picked up the rifle, Dorian asked General Glides, "Uh, General Glides, is there anything else we need to discuss? If not, may I leave now? I need to open my guild soon to start business."

"Ah, yes, you may leave after you have some tea here with me, just for a moment."

"It was only for a moment, but I spent two whole hours just chatting with her."

Dorian walked away, imaginary tears streaming down his face. "Oh, right, I haven't chosen a recipe from the system reward yet." and gacha magic skills'

Looking at the names and recipes available on the holographic screen before his eyes, Dorian considered what to choose in the early days of the guild's opening.

After some difficult deliberation, Dorian chose:

"rum, hamburger, fried rice, goat satay, and magical blue fantasy (think of it as a soda that starts out blue and then changes to purple when added to syrup)."

rum for drunkards, fried rice for everyone, goat satay to accompany fried rice or as a snack, and magical blue fantasy for women and children.

Thinking about the plan in his mind, he silently thought, "Hohoho, this is what a genius like me should do." He held his forehead with one hand, a strong aura of narcissism surrounding him, which undoubtedly made many people keep their distance from him.

.....

Arriving at the Guild building, Dorian began preparing everything. He set up the administration desk at the front, with a quest board beside it. A room filled with items such as swords, wands, potions, and raw animal materials, most of which were the initial sponsorship system for him to start this guild.

Tidying up the room upstairs, Dorian heard a voice downstairs. "Wow, so cool and spacious. Is this a restaurant or a chamber of commerce owned by a noble?" It turned out that two visitors had arrived at his guild at that moment: a young woman, and an elderly man dressed neatly and holding a long wand.

"Ah, hello, welcome to the adventurer's guild. I'm Dorian, the caretaker and owner of this place... is there anything I can help you with?"

Dorian stood by the administration desk first and greeted the two guests.

"Hello, I'm Walter, a 3rd Circle mage from the empire. I've come to accompany the princess on her walk." The elderly man stepped forward to introduce himself.

Putri also gracefully introduced herself, "I'm Olivia Phoene, nice to meet you, Mr. Dorian."

"According to what the administrator said, I can buy and sell, or even ask for help from a third party. Is that true, Mr. Dorian?"

"Of course, Mr. Walter, but currently there are no third parties available to help because the guild has just opened. Just tell me what you want to buy, and I can try searching for it in our inventory."

Although Walter was a bit skeptical and suspicious, he still asked, "Okay, I'm looking for some healing potions and a third-circle spellbook for myself."

Dorian took out three red bottles and a crystal from behind the administration desk. "I have three levels here: inferior, primary, and superior." "Superior" is the highest level. "As for the previous magic book, can I see your affinity?"

Walter answered cautiously, "Sure, but how accurate will the results be?"

"As accurate as possible. Place your hand on this crystal. Try your best to resist the incoming energy."

Walter obediently placed his left hand on the crystal. He then felt energy flowing through his palm. He listened to Dorian's command and didn't resist the energy's movement. This only lasted two minutes.

The next moment, the crystal lit up, displaying three colors: blue, brown, and white. This result surprised both Walter and Dorian.

Dorian thought, "Damn, isn't healer a rare job with a 1 in 100 chance of becoming one? How lucky is this?"

While Walter thought, "Three elements? The school only stated that I only have two elements."

Dorian didn't hesitate and declared, "Mr. Walter, you have an affinity for the elements of water, earth, and light. Congratulations."

"Light element? Is that true? It's hard to believe that I actually have a light affinity and could be a respected and prioritized healer, yet I'm only a third-circle mage at my age."

Walter was in disbelief and regret. Olivia, who had been silent all this time, patted Walter on the back, sympathizing with him.

Dorian watched this scene, confused as to what was going on.

"Well, Mr. Walter, don't be too discouraged. Maybe your talent lies in the healing profession all along."

He raised his hand and pointed to the sky. "Remember the blood of a— ahem ahem... Remember, it's never too late to achieve your dreams, so Mr. Walter, try your best."

Walter felt his heart warm. "Thank you, Mr. Dorian. Thank you, Princess Olivia. Okay, Mr. Dorian, I've decided to try starting over. Is there anything I can do to help me?"

Of course there is! Dorian walked back to the pile of books and looked for something. "Not this one, not this one either. Uh, what else? Ah, this is it... then."

He ran back to the potion display, grabbed a bottle of green liquid, and brought three items back to the administration desk.

"I brought three items in total: a learning potion, a book on basic healing magic applications, and a healing bead. These beads contain magical power that can be used to assist the caster in casting spells. I hope this will be useful to you."

He took the items, looked at the potion briefly, opened it, and drank it. He placed the bottle on the table. Walter began to open and read the book carefully.

His pupils constricted and his mouth dropped open as he flipped through the book, shocked by what was inside.

"Complete knowledge, knowledge more comprehensive than that possessed by [Sanctum]. Yet they claim to be an independent organization focused on healing."

Walter spent a full 60 minutes finishing his book, and in the meantime, Dorian wasn't idle either.

He treated Princess Olivia to some food: fried rice with satay and a drink of Magic Blue.

Carrying a tray full of dishes, he approached Olivia's table.

"Here you are, Princess. A plate of fried rice with satay, and our guild's signature glass of Magic Blue."

"You can just call me Olivia, Mr. Dorian. And why is this drink called Magic Blue?" "Is that why it's blue?" Olivia pointed curiously at the drink.

Dorian picked up a bottle of soda from the tray. "Well, if you pour this into that glass, the color of the drink will change automatically, and the taste will too. Would you like to try it first, Princess Olivia?"

"Sure," Olivia took a sip, amazed by the taste that lingered on her tongue. It was like feeling the cool air on a hot day.

It was sweet, but not overly sweet. Then came a sourness that seemed to accompany the sweetness and envelop her mouth, washing it away from the sweetness, ensuring it wouldn't lose its sweetness if she drank it continuously. The coolness of the drink was refreshing, not freezing.

"Wow, I'm so amazed by the taste of this drink. What will happen if we add water to that bottle?" Olivia commented, to which Dorian responded by pouring the bottle into a glass.

"Then try it, Princess Olivia, and see what might happen to this drink."

The color of the drink changed immediately after the soda was poured in, and the popping bubbles produced by the soda piqued the young woman's interest.

She then took it and drank it out of curiosity... she couldn't describe what she was feeling; only one word could describe it: "amazing."

Olivia looked at her drink, then at Dorian, then back at her drink.

This made Dorian want to laugh because her expression of amazement was so cute and precious, it almost made him want to laugh.

"Master Dorian... you must truly become our royal head chef, without a doubt," Olivia gave Dorian a serious look.

Dorian politely replied with a smile, "Thank you for your offer, Princess. But I must continue running this guild. As a very positive young man, I have great ambitions, and the imperial kitchen is simply not suitable for me. Alternatively, you could bring your relatives here to dine with you. I welcome your visit."

Well, although Olivia looked disappointed, she still respected Dorian's opinion, and Dorian's final words rekindled her enthusiasm.

She hurriedly asked, "Uh, how much does everything cost, including Uncle Walter's book, etc."

"Uh, it only costs 30,505 gold and 40 copper coins for the total." Dorian smoothly calculated everything.

Olivia placed a bag full of gold coins on the administration desk, then ran and dragged Walter away.

Walter, who had finished reading, wanted to thank him for the book and praise the author, but Olivia didn't give him the chance as he was immediately dragged away.

"Uh, wait, Princess... Ah, Lord Dorian, thank you for the book. It's very useful for me. We'll meet again soon." See you later~"

Dorian waved goodbye to the departing guests. The setting sun illuminated the guild building, signaling the arrival of night. The days passed, but Dorian and his guild's lives were unaffected by this time.

Whether day or night, Dorian would keep the guild building open, the lights shining brightly, making it stand out from the surrounding buildings.

Here, Dorian tidied up the tables and bookshelves, tending to the swords there, dusting them off to maintain their quality.

In this moment, a ding sounded in Dorian's head, "Ding! Congratulations, host, for officially opening the guild and welcoming your first guest. You receive..."

Dorian laughed heartily at the rewards he had received from this system.
