Chapter 13 - Not Aggrieved

After dinner was ready, the butler kept waiting downstairs for the young master to come down.

But even by ten o'clock at night, there was still no sign of him.

Worried that if he didn't eat, the young master's stomach problems would flare up again.

With no other choice, he braced himself and went upstairs.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he arrived, he saw the young master standing at the door in a daze.

"Young master, is something wrong?"

Hearing the butler's voice, Xue Feimo immediately snapped back to reality.

The expression on his face vanished in an instant, returning to his usual indifferent look.

"Go call her down for dinner."

"Oh, yes." The butler looked at his young master with a puzzled glance, nodding in response.

Could it be that his eyes were playing tricks on him?

He could've sworn he just saw the young master grinning stupidly…

The butler shook his head, trying to get rid of all the messy thoughts in his mind.

He knocked on the young master's bedroom door, "Knock knock knock."

"Xue Feimo, get lost!"

A furious voice came from inside.

The butler was instantly stunned, stiffening as he turned his head around.

The elevator doors were already closing slowly, and he could just catch a glimpse of a black hem of clothing.

The butler howled in his heart: "Young master, you've set me up again…"

Dropping his head, he wiped away nonexistent tears, and trembled as he asked, "Miss Luo, do you still need to come downstairs for dinner?"

If you don't want to, I'll just leave.

Once the butler finished, the bedroom instantly fell silent.

After dozens of seconds, Luo Tiantian's soft and syrupy voice rang out, "Uncle Butler, I'll be right there."

Even through the door, you could feel the sugary sweetness in her tone.

"Uh, alright." The butler hurriedly replied.

His already confused head got even more muddled.

"Have I been too idle lately? Why am I always seeing things?"

The butler left, shaking his head to clear it.

Downstairs, Xue Feimo had just arrived in the dining room when a series of exquisite dishes was immediately set on the table.

He reached out to take the warm towel handed over by the servants, elegantly cleaning his hands.

Out of habit, he picked up the glass of red wine at the side and downed it in one go.

Lowering his eyes to look at the table full of dishes, he pursed his lips.

Appearing distant and lost in thought…

His stomach was very hungry, his gut was empty.

But staring at the table packed with dishes, he had absolutely no appetite at all.

The butler stepped out of the elevator and immediately noticed the empty wine glass by the young master's right hand.

"Young master, please eat a little bit! This Yangtze shad is…"

The butler earnestly tried to persuade him, singing the praises of every dish to the heavens.

Unfortunately, no matter how hoarse he got, Xue Feimo turned a deaf ear.

Instead, he silently picked up the wine bottle and refilled his glass again.

Master and servant: one chattered on and on, while the other seemed isolated from the world.

Neither of them noticed Luo Tiantian's arrival.

Until…

"Uncle, what you're doing is really not okay~"

The clear, lively voice broke the strange atmosphere.

The butler and Xue Feimo both turned to look at Luo Tiantian.

One's eyes lit up, the other's expression unreadable.

"Uncle?" Xue Feimo raised his eyebrow.

The servant stepped forward to pull out a dining chair, and Luo Tiantian sat down smoothly.

As if she hadn't heard Xue Feimo at all, she continued talking to herself, "Uncle, I've already checked.

The most expensive Yangtze shad in history weighed about 6.5 taels and was once auctioned off for fifty-nine thousand.

Plus, since it can't be farmed, it's now on the brink of extinction.

So, you charging me one million is absolutely reasonable."

As Luo Tiantian spoke, she carefully deboned the fish and placed it in Xue Feimo's bowl.

"…" Xue Feimo raised an eyebrow, glanced at the fish in his bowl, and said with a half-smile, "Mm, not too dumb."

Luo Tiantian's body stiffened, a flash of annoyance darted through her eyes before quickly disappearing.

"Uncle, eat a little more. I'll help pick out the bones for you."
