"Where do you originally live, my dear?" The elderly woman asks.
When I heard, Torren cleared his throat as I replied, "I am from Chicago, Sir, that is where I met Mr MacCarty. Now, if you will excuse us, please, we should be going. I am a bit tired and have so much to do tomorrow."
Holding Torren's hand once more as Mr MacCarty opened the car. I then helped Torren into the back seat, seeing that he was comfortable. Shawney then went to the front and sat in the passenger seat.
Train notices how they keep looking at Shawney. Being glad at that moment, she was seated at the front.
We had only driven for about five minutes, and no one said anything. Then Shawney turns around, looking at Torren, asking him, "Torren, are you all right?"
Seeing his head bent, he was silent, "Sir, will you pull aside, please?"
Watching her get out and sit at the back, she takes his hand, gently stroking it. "Torren, what is wrong?"
Train listened to Shawney coaxing Torren, but he didn't respond to her. Then there was total silence once again. Glancing through the review mirror, she was sitting aside while he ignored her.
'I haven't told her about his silent mode.' When she said, "Sir, will you stop the car, please?"
"Let me just pass the light, Shawney, then I will stop."
Pulling aside, Train heard the door open, then it closed, thinking she was returning to the front seat. He waited for her to enter the passenger seat, but after a few minutes, she didn't. He turned around, asking Torren.
"Torren, where did Shawney go?" When he ignores him, Train steps out of the car, looking around, but she is nowhere in sight.
Angry with Torren for ignoring her, "Torren, have you seen which direction Shawney went?"
Waiting for more than ten minutes, when she didn't return, Train left. "Angry with Torren, Train said, "I hope you are satisfied now. She is gone, and she won't be returning."
Seeing her purse on the front seat, Train becomes very concerned, "Oh my God, where did this child go? And she doesn't have any money. I hope you are really happy. Did you have to give her the silent treatment? Now she has no money, and no place to stay; all she was trying to do was protect you."
Parking in the garage, "We are home now, you can go and lock yourself in your room, I feel you like to do that."
Leaving him in the car, Train went inside, "Dad, what is wrong?" Jeff asked, observing how angry his Dad was.
"I am in no mood to talk, Jeff. When your brother comes out of the car, see that the house is secure."
Hearing his Dad's door slam, Jeff thought, 'Carl told me we have a guest, so where is she? Hearing Candis and Travis quarrelling when they return from their dinner, all because of this guest of Dad, I was curious to see her.'
Going to the car, Jeff saw Torren alone. 'Carl and Careen could not stop speaking about the guest. It sounds as though they were afraid that Torren might like her.
But she didn't return with Dad, and why was Dad so angry? I have never seen him so furious in years and never with Torren.'
Opening the car door for Torren, holding his hand, seeing the way he was crying, 'Did Dad quarrel with him? What had he done?
'I know he does crazy things when he gets angry,' with his hands in mine. "Come on, Torren, let me help you to your room."
Pulling his hand away, he said, "Leave me alone, I don't need your help."
"Torren, there's no need to be angry, it is only I, Jeff." Jeff suspected Torren and Dad had a serious misunderstanding. "Okay, if you want to be like that, I am going to bed, but make sure you lock the door?"
Halfway up the stairs, Jeff heard the car door slam, then the front door. 'He is inside,' Jeff muttered, as he watched Torren enters and headed up the stairs. as he goes. Torren had only reached the door right before his room and stopped. He knocked, calling out. "Shawney, I am so sorry. Please open the door."
When he opened the door, Jeff noticed that not long after, Torren came outside asking, "Jeff, where is our guest? She isn't in the room?"
Curious to know who this young lady is. "I don't know, I saw no one come in with Dad."
Observing that he was beginning to get angry, "Why are you lying?"
Angry, himself, Jeff retorts, "I am not, now shut up and go to your room, I am fed up with your tantrum."
"Jeff, please leave him alone." Train, scold.
"I am going to lock the front door, Dad," Jeff replies, becoming frustrated for being scolded for no reason.
Train was already angry with Torren's silent mode. Now having to deal with Jeff verbally abusing Torren, he snapped, "Leave it alone, I will attend to the door, and Torren will quiet down in a while."
"Tell me what happens, Dad?" Jeff urges, becoming more curious. Ignoring Jeff's question, Train walks away to check the door.
Attending to Torren, trying to settle him down, was more exhausting than he expected. Train wanted to call Carl to help when he noticed Jeff was standing in the room. Train knew how inquisitive he was when things concerned Torren.
" Jeff, why are you standing there? Nothing happens, now go to your room," It was already so late when he heard Travis and Candis quarrelling. "What is wrong with them now?" Train asks.
