Chapter 30 - Mystery Room?

The next morning, Li Hua woke to a bright light in her face. She tried to sit up but her head hurt like crazy. She plopped back down on the bed.

Had she really drunk that much?! She could barely remember what happened the previous night.

There was a knock on the door and a few maids walked in.

"Good morning miss. Mr. Su asked us to prepare breakfast for you, especially to deal with a hangover."

Smelling the food she carefully lifted herself up on to the bed frame.

"Thank you, tell Mr. Su I appreciate it." She was in no mood to be petty. Putting aside their differences she was appreciative.

She ate the food but didn't feel like getting up yet. She pulled out her phone to see it had been blown up with messages. All from An Biao!

Reading each one she felt like her head was about to explode. Wow could this girl type. Each message had one common factor Su LingTian.

"Did you think it was weird for Su LingTian to be there?"

"Li Hua what was Su LingTian doing there?"

"What's going on between you and Su LingTian?"

"Did you go home with him?! Omg are you ok? Should I call the police you're not answering."

Li Hua's eye started to twitch. Call the police? What a drama queen, all bark and no bite.

"I'm fine. Su LingTian took me back home, nothing to worry about." She replied. She didn't actually lie, he did take her home and nothing seemed to happen last night.

She threw her phone to the side and got up. She walked downstairs. She saw no sign of Su LingTian

anywhere. Maybe he was at work?

She sat on the coach and began flipping through the different channels. She settled on watching some crime show, she'd watch anything to take her mind off her headache. She had just started getting immersed into the show when a voice rang from the door.

"So you like shows like this?

Li Hua turned around slowly and saw Su LingTian watching the TV. Seeing her expressions he frowned. "I can't be in my own house?"

"Whatever." She said turning around.

Disregarding her attitude, he continued.

"I wonder who did it? Could it be the wife? Or maybe some mystery person?"

Seeing he had no intention of leaving, she sighed.

"It's obviously the wife. If you're significant other cheated on you surely you'd be upset. Especially if they hid it from you."

She sneaked a glance at him. Her answer may have been about the show but secretly it was directed at him but he seemed to have no reaction! Did he not realize she was talking about him?!

"Ah I see. So cheating could drive someone to murder..."

Li Hua didn't even bother responding this time. Even if she wanted to leave she had barely had the strength to get back up.

They silently watched the show together and the reveal was shown.

"It was the mistress!" They both said at the same time. What a twist! Li Hua turned to Su LingTian and laughed "Guess I was wrong!"

Su LingTian didn't laugh back and stared at her. Realizing what she'd done she cleared her throat.

"My bad."

The room grew silent again.

The next episode began to play but they were in no mood to watch anymore.

"Li Hua I-"

"I plan to return to work in a few days." She cut him off.

She had no intention of quitting her job. She enjoyed it and it gave her something to do. If she let one bad thing get in the way nothing would ever get done.

"Oh I see."

He did a little research on her and found out she was working at a bar under the Alias Yu Hua. He wasn't happy with her workplace, especially as that was where she was assaulted. However, she told him she didn't want him to interfere with her life. The least he could do was respect her wishes.

"My mother would like to meet you soon. I've been trying to push it back but we can't avoid it now."

"Oh ok." She was a little nervous but this was their deal. She couldn't expect to receive without giving in return.

She knew it wasn't real but the idea still terrified her. Back when they were actually dating she hadn't even met his parents. What would they think of her? Would they like her? Wait why did she even care it's not like it mattered in the end.

"I'll inform you before hand of course."

She grunted in response and turned her attention back to the tv. Seeing this Su LingTian smiled.

It seemed like every time they were together he'd find little pieces of the old her. She was never a fan of long conversations so she'd end them by starting a different action. Seeing this he turned and walked out of the room.

Seeing that he left Li Hua said to herself. "What a stupid guy."

The afternoon went by smoothly. An Biao and her chatted on the phone for a few minutes before to check up on each other.

Lunch had been served but Su LingTian didn't join her. Eating by herself she would constantly glance at the door. However, each time no one was there.

One of the help noticed and spoke up.

"Mr. Su doesn't eat lunch so please stop worrying so much."

Realizing she was caught she tried to deflect.

"Worried? Me? Please. I was simply thinking about... something."

"Ah ok sorry for the misunderstanding miss."

Li Hua smiled and tried to continue eating however her appetite was gone. She stood up and excused herself from the room.

He truly was a stupid guy! Surely if you worked a lot you'd be hungry. How unhealthy.

She looked out a nearby window and scoffed. His car was still in the driveway. She really didn't understand how you could have all you wanted and not use any of it! A few days ago she'd kill to have someone prepare a meal for her.

However it was none of her concern. Who was she to tell him what to do and not to do. With that she walked to her room.

Her room was on the right side of the hall but as she was about to open the door she stopped.

At the end of the hall was a room she hadn't entered yet. She had nothing better to do so she walked over to the door.

Slowly opening up the door her eyes grew wide. There was a Piano! It was a white grand piano with intricate black details along it.

"Beautiful" she whispered.

She walked over and her fingers gently grazed the keys. The cool feeling sending shivers through her body.

On the stand was sheet music, picking it up she realized the music was for the song Summers Night!

Wasn't this the song they played all those years ago? Why would he have the sheet music for it?

The paper had notes scrawled all over them

'No.'

'Not right....'

'It's not the same!'

Li Hua put the music back and sat down on the bench. She breathed in and began to play.
