The sounds of gongs and drums endlessly interweaved. On the outskirts, a circle of villagers stood watching the excitement, while inside, several flamboyantly dressed Taoists were running in circles.
There were five Taoists in total, each embroidered with an animal on their clothes, precisely one of the Nine Offspring of the Dragon, such as Taotie and some others who seek revenge for the smallest grievance. They wore Cloud Crowns on their heads and wooden clogs on their feet, making a grand presence as they moved.
Leading them was a fat guy, holding a Peach Wood Sword, muttering words with a rice bowl in hand and a portrait of the ancestral master behind. It all looked very formal, and the surrounding villagers felt an awe they couldn't quite understand.
