A domesticated Black Cat led a simple and boring life. Even though the windows at home were often left open and there were many places it could have escaped to, unlike other cats that would sneak out even when not in heat, it never did. Not because it was particularly well-behaved, but because for some reason, it always felt a deep-seated fear towards the balcony, the windows, and the front door. It dared not leave, harboring a great panic about leaving the house. The outer world intrigued it little because since birth, it had always stayed indoors, feeling it might remain there until its death.
Suddenly one day, as it was basking in the sun by the floor-to-ceiling window, a piece of meat fell from the sky, landing on its own balcony.
It wouldn't eat it, as its owner, though never having taken it outside, had provided it a luxurious life among cats. Raw meat, especially this bloody piece that bore a feline scent, truly did not interest it.
