Mr. Su Bai had previously booked a guesthouse online that was right next to Cai Village Pier, less than two hundred meters away. Upon arrival at the guesthouse, aptly named Oceanview Pavilion No.1, he learned the owner was a man from South Korea, and the proprietress was a woman from northeast China.
When Mr. Su Bai entered the guesthouse, cradling the little one in his arms, he saw a man and a woman busy cleaning – the man pushing a vacuum cleaner and the woman wielding a cloth.
"Did you book online?" the woman asked as she casually placed the rag aside to rinse her hands at the sink before approaching Mr. Su Bai.
"Yes, booked online."
"Great, please follow me."
Led by the woman to the central living room at the back, Mr. Su Bai handed over his ID card to her for online registration, it turned out that she was the proprietress.
"You're quite the hardworking proprietress, aren't you?"
