Since the carriage had been winding earlier, the coffee house was actually not far from Cai Village Pier, which was also where Mr. Su Bai stayed at the inn. Thus, on his way back, Mr. Su Bai didn't call for a ride. Cradling the little one in one arm, father and son slowly walked back as if they were simply taking a leisurely stroll.
The weather in Dali can change at the drop of a hat. One moment, you're faced with bright sunshine and clear blue skies and water; but when you turn around, you might be met with dark, rolling clouds bearing down on you. This is especially true in Cai Village, where, nestled between Yu'an Mountain and Cang Mountain, you don't even need to down to Erhai Lake, just sitting on a stone bench, gazing at the mountains, gazing at the clouds, is profoundly enjoyable.
