"Does that mean you've accepted her as your Luna?" Antonia asked in anticipation.
That's all she cares about right now. She never considered his apology for once.
"Yes, she can come in now," Adolphus agreed.
However, his facial expressions suggest otherwise. He only agreed to accept Naomi just to please Antonia.
She's not aware of this fact, and it doesn't seem like she will find out soon.
"Thanks so much. I love you," out of excitement, she embraces Adolphus.
It was a firm grip. Adolphus was lucky enough not to have fallen to the ground.
"I just hope I'm doing the right thing," Adolphus sighed.
He would rather not end up regretting in the near future for something that could have been avoided.
"What did he say?".Naomi asked the moment Antonia showed up outside to join her.
Her heart is beating faster. She overheard Antonia yelling at the Alpha. She needed no soothsayer to tell her that the Alpha had rejected her.
"He has accepted you as his bride. He asked me to send for you," Antonia disclosed with so much passion.
She is the happiest person on earth right now. She feels so accomplished for making a difference.
To her shock, Naomi didn't respond. She buried her face in the ground in agony.
This got Antonia worried.
She just couldn't resist the urge to ask, "What's the matter? You are supposed to be excited. You certainly know what this means, right?"
"Are you sure he likes me?" Naomi bemoaned. "Because I saw the way he looked at me. That feels like I'm not wanted here,"
"Hey, come here," She pulled Naomi closer to her.
Looking directly at her face, she put Naomi to text with an intelligent question, "Do you trust me?"
"Of course I do," Naomi gave a quick response. "If I don't trust you, I won't be here,"
"Good," Antonia applauds her. "Then believe me when I say this is your home,"
"Now let's go. We can't keep the Alpha waiting for too long," she grabbed Naomi's arms and led her back to Adolphus.
"She's here now. Thanks for being patient. I had to ensure that some things are in check," Antonia explained even before Adolphus could ask questions.
She knows for sure that Adolphus hates to be kept waiting and that's what she did. Apologising to him very quickly was her only way of calming his anger.
"Noted," Adolphus nodded.
He concentrated his gaze on Naomi. He's trying so hard to like her, but it's not working.
"So when is the wedding coming up? Do you need me to start making plans?" She teased Adolphus with a wink.
She's trying to rush the whole arrangement in such a way that Adolphus won't get suspicious of foul play.
"Leave that to me. It's too early to discuss that," Adolphus turned her down.
He'd rather do things his way than let her put words into his mouth.
It wasn't enough for her to bring him a wife without his permission. Now she wants to plan a wedding that he has yet to approve of.
"I'll leave you two to discuss. Please be nice to her," Antonia urged her brother before her exit.
She made Adolphus believe that she had left. Unknown to him, she was peeping from outside while eavesdropping on the conversation.
She's so eager to know how Adolphus will treat Naomi when nobody is watching.
And she wasn't wrong. It's been over two minutes of watching and no one has made a move yet.
Not even Adolphus. He doesn't know where to start speaking from.
He thought he was lively and jovial until he met Naomi, and everything changed. More like she stole his vocal cords and rendered him dumb.
"Say something, brother. Stop acting like a bitch," Antonia fumed from her hiding place.
She tried her best not to let Adolphus or Naomi hear her voice.
"So where are you from?" Adolphus finally broke the deadlock.
It seemed like a difficult task for him. He's tired of pretending to care. The conversation barely began, and he just can't wait to end it.
"I'm from a new age pack. My father is the Alpha of the pack," Naomi said as she gave a detailed explanation of her background information.
She ensured that information was omitted during her explanation.
"I see," Adolphus hummed.
He could barely keep up with the conversation anymore.
He has lost his ideas, and he's starting to appear clueless in front of Naomi.
What he wanted to avoid is gradually happening to him already.
"Go meet my sister to set you up with everything you'd be needing. Welcome to my pack," He forced a smile on his face and asked her to leave.
The fake pretence was so obvious. Even a blind man can see that.
He discharged her without having any physical contact with her. Not even a hug or a kiss on her chin.
Naomi arrived outside feeling disappointed and regretful. She hates herself for expecting too much from the Alpha.
"You were here all along?" She expressed her shock after seeing Antonia outside.
It dawned on her that Antonia never left just like she and Adolphus thought.
"Hey, don't scream," Antonia moved closer to seal her lips.
She'd rather not let Adolphus find out that she was eavesdropping the whole time.
"I heard everything.
Don't bother telling," she stopped Naomi from speaking.
She took Naomi to her quarters to get cleaned up.
She also supplied Naomi with numerous royal garments to make her feel comfortable in the pack.
"This is beautiful. I can barely recognise myself anymore," Naomi expressed her excitement after seeing her reflection in the mirror.
She never thought she'd be this beautiful. That's her first time applying makeup on her face. Her father always kicked against that.
According to his words, "You're too young for this. Men will start coming for you and I don't want that,"
When her father heard that she would be getting married to Adolphus, he was excited.
That has been his wish; to see his daughter become the bride to an Alpha.
He had his trust in Adolphus that his daughter would feel safer under his care.
However, one person kicked against this arrangement; Naomi's mother.
She claimed that her daughter is too young to get married, especially to an Alpha. She wants a different route for Naomi.
She did all she could to stop this marriage from happening, but she failed.
Naomi's father already made the final decision and nothing can change that. Not even the pool of tears from Naomi's mother.
"It's time to introduce you to the maids. They need to know that a new Luna is here," Antonia disclosed.
She also used the opportunity to brief Naomi on the complete details about the pack and the things to expect.
"Do you think the maids will like me? I mean, they don't even know me," she asked in a worried tone.
Her father's maids adore her a lot. They practically worship the ground she walks on.
But in Adolphus pack, she's expecting a different treatment, especially when Adolphus hasn't officially introduced her to the pack as his new Luna.
She hates rejection. She doesn't have a problem if the rejection is from the Alpha.
But what she won't condone is being ridiculed by the maids whom she's obviously ten times better than in all ramifications.
"They don't have a choice. I won't hesitate to have them dealt with," Naomi vowed.
She spoke with so much confidence. More like she already had the conversation with the maids before going to fetch Naomi.
