"Are you afraid to have sex with me?" Naomi asked Adolphus after he left her hanging despite the intense romance.
She feels so gutted right now. She stylishly perceived her skin to be sure she wasn't oozing.
"I'm not oozing. So what exactly is the problem?" She confronted Adolphus.
She faces the wall and folds her arms, "Now I know better. You never liked me,"
"Hey, don't say that." Adolphus turns to her direction to clear his name of any allegations leveled against her.
"You know that's not true. If I didn't like you, I would have kicked you out of my chambers for a long time. Let alone, letting you gain access to my room," Adolphus explained.
He was hell-bent on setting the record straight. He hasn't been this desperate to prove himself to anyone before.
He was never this submissive to Ainar. He's just meeting Naomi for the first time, and he's already acting like he's under her spell.
He can't tell how he found himself in this dilemma, which is difficult to come out of. A while ago, he never wanted to set his eyes on Naomi.
Then suddenly, she's the best thing that ever happened to him. If he didn't know Antonia better, he'd have concluded that she set him up with Naomi.
"So what's this about? I need answers," Naomi demanded.
"See, it's fine if you don't like me. You don't have to force yourself to go against your will," She made it easier for him.
She gave Adolphus the simplest route to use. Yet, he ends up lost and stranded like a sheep in the wilderness.
"The truth is," he paused. He's sure of what to say, but lacks the right approach to construct his utterances.
"You're still worried about Ainar's whereabouts, aren't you?" Naomi did him the favour by speaking up for him.
"How did you know?" Adolphus was stunned. "I have never told you about this before. We have barely had a decent conversation since you got here,"
"I bet you know the answer to that question," she gave him a clue without hitting the bail on the head.
"Damn it Antonia. You had just one job and got screwed up," Adolphus snarled.
No name was mentioned, but he is sure that Antonia is behind this. The last time he checked, Antonia specifically brought Naomi to the pack.
He knows what Naomi is capable of doing when she wants to achieve her goal.
"I am sorry she had to tell me. Trust me, I never asked her,"
Naomi confessed.
She is already noticing the Alpha's anger.
She's smart enough to exempt herself should Adolphus start punishing Antonia for sharing a family secret that should be kept sacred and hidden.
"It's okay if you don't want to spill. I'd thoroughly understand the decision behind it," Naomi lost all hope.
She left the bed and put back her clothes after stripping herself naked, intending to make love to Adolphus.
"Not a bad day in the pack after all," she smirked. She put on her footwear and headed for the living room.
Like a programmed machine, Adolphus followed her immediately screaming for her return
She ignored his call but it was on purpose. She knew he'd come begging her.
She has fun messing around with Adolphus. She has heard a lot about him. But what she doesn't agree on is Adolphus's ruthless nature.
So far, she has been able to penetrate his defence with little or no effort. Right now, she sees him as a vulnerable being that can easily be manipulated.
"Please don't leave me," Adolphus pulled her back by the arm
There's something about Naomi that piques his interest. It's a feeling he can't explain.
It's not as though he hasn't been with other women in the past. However, Naomi is different.
She bears the unique features that are distinct from those of other ladies in the past.
"Don't push it, Adolphus. I know your sister is forcing you to do this," Naomi makes a bold claim again.
She keeps ticking so many boxes that Adolphus doesn't even believe they exist.
"You're smart," Adolphus confessed. "You seem to know a lot,"
"I try," Naomi laughed
She frowned again and buried her face in the earth. She doesn't want it to seem like she is forcing herself on Adolphus.
She wants him to make the move as the man, while she plays hard to get, just like every other lady.
"Are you sure about this?" She asked again.
She lost count of how many times she had asked Adolphus if he truly wanted her.
As much as she wants to do this with Adolphus, she needs to be sure if they both want the same thing.
Unlike Adolphus who is still struggling with his decision-making policy, Naomi had already decided a long time ago after seeing a photo of Adolphus' phone.
From that moment, she said to herself, "He's my destined man. No can separate us. The moon goddess knows better,"
"Holy moly. I should have known better," She shakes her head disdainfully.
"Please wait," Adolphus makes a fast move to kiss her on the lips.
She pushed him away, "What are you doing?"
"Showing how much I love you,"
"This is illegal. You haven't accepted me yet,"
"The only illegal thing is not introducing you to the pack as the new Luna," Adolphus joked. He managed to crack Naomi up and made her laugh.
She couldn't help but say, "That was funny. You certainly know your onions,"
"Well, you don't need to go through the stress of introducing me to everyone. Your sister already did that. Everyone knows about me now," Naomi saved Adolphus the suspense.
"Oh boy. Here comes my sister again," Adolphus said with a smile on his face.
He feels a lot happier with Naomi by his side. He is hoping that she'll be with him for a long time.
"So tell me about Ainar.
I bet Antonia sure omitted some important information," Naomi pleaded.
How she killed off the joke and digressed to a different conversation needs to be studied.
Adolphus never expected. This is one of the reasons he is yearning for more closure with Naomi.
"Walk with me," he returned to the sofa as Naomi followed him closely. She never uttered a word.
Rather, she chooses to be patient. She also ensured her ears were on the ground to avoid missing out on what Adolphus wanted to say.
At this stage, she considered every bit of conversation with Adolphus very crucial.
Adolphus delayed a bit. He spent the last couple of minutes wandering the living room as though he had forgotten something.
Naomi is never a fan of delayed response. Regardless, she was determined to endure knowing that it may be worth the wait eventually
"She was a maid," Adolphus finally released the handbrake
"An orphan and also wolf less," he kept going on. He described Ainar in the most pathetic manner ever.
He still bears that resentment towards her, especially when she was heavily pregnant with his baby before she escaped.
"Now that's too much to say for someone who was referred to as your Luna,"
"She wasn't my Luna,"
Adolphus cautioned Naomi with a hard tone.
He had to apologise immediately when he realised that he had been mistaken in doing that.
Naomi is just about innocent. She committed no crime to warrant such hostility.
If there's anyone who should be at the receiving end of Adolphus' wrath, it's definitely Ainar and no one else.
"So what led to her escape? It turns out that your sister never talked about it, and I didn't bother asking either." Naomi didn't slow down in her question.
She kept tossing them at Adolphus to the point where he started choking on his words.
He suspects foul play even though he can't prove it. He can't understand her sudden interest in his private life.
Adolphus had never held this deep conversation about Ainar before he left.
But with Naomi, it feels so different. He has this irresistible urge to keep talking without a rest.
