The guests flew into full party mode. Seeing the ballroom now, it would be hard to imagine that everyone had gotten the scare of a lifetime just a moment ago. Couples took to the dance floor, perhaps inspired by the love between Kaeren and me, as they swayed their bodies to the tune in the air.
I had my hand hooked around Kaeren's as we walked around the hall, stopping to converse with important nobles. People approached one after the other, all smiles and cheers, as they congratulated us.
"You look wonderful together, by the way." One lady commented, before being dragged off by her husband to the dance floor.
"You're very kind," I let out a quiet laugh as the couple hurried off. I turned to look at Kaeren— his eyes were fixed on me.
"What? Have I got something on my face?" I pointed with my finger.
Kaeren shook his head. His lips curled at the ends as he said, "Not at all. I'm just wondering how I got so lucky. You are the most dazzling gem I've ever seen."
