We arrived at the hall after a 10-minute drive. Immediately the car skidded to a halt, and Kaeren stepped down to help me out of the car. Seeing his hand stretched towards me, my lips couldn't help but curl upwards. I set my palm in his, allowing him to sweep me right into his proximity.
Camera flashes hit us like a wave. Reporters who'd caught wind of the internal conflict that struck the Evermonts; people who had initially joined in accusing me of the deeds I did not commit; everyone came out in droves to watch us.
A thick red carpet led the path into the hall. A number of people threw bouquets of flowers in our direction, screaming their love for us. Kaeren said to me as we walked, "Raise your head, Waverly. Stand proud. You've come a long way. This is only a tip of what you truly deserve."
