Tuesday morning began quietly at Stanley Goodman's office.
Stanley sat behind his large desk, reading through a report. Although he did not hold a very prominent position in the company, he was still a Goodman, and so everyone respected him.
Stanley had barely finished reading the second page when his secretary knocked lightly on the open door.
"Sir?"
Stanley looked up. "What is it?"
"There are two police officers downstairs."
His expression changed slightly. "Police?"
"Yes, sir."
"What do they want?" he asked, wondering if Eric had gotten into some kind of trouble again.
"They said they need to speak with you," the secretary answered.
Stanley slowly placed the report on his desk. "Did they say why?"
"They said it concerns an investigation," she answered.
"Which one?" Stanley asked, not remembering his connection to any investigation at the moment.
"They did not say," the secretary answered.
For a moment, Stanley said nothing. Then he closed the folder in front of him.
