(KAELEN'S POV)
"I have been waiting for you." I greeted Varkaine as I held the door open.
"Why? I told you I had to get some chicken roast for myself." He was wearing a pout as he walked in holding a package. "Now, don't say anything about placing an order in the kitchen, I want the roadside stuff."
I decided to stay shut. I had no words for him.
"Why do you look like your underpants are twisted?" Varkaine was giving me a suspicious look as we walked further in.
"Mother just left. She had a lot to say about my mate and about the way I am ruling." I spilled to him just as we got to the bar. "Tell me, what do you think?"
"Okay, that's a lot." Varkaine said after blowing a raspberry. "I mean, I am angry that I didn't get to be the best man."
I rolled my eyes and poured a drink while Varkaine was laughing.
"Okay, I am lost here. What's going on, Kael? What's wrong? You look like you walked out of a shitty challenge." He said and collected the drink I had poured for myself.
