"So I just succumb to her will? Or kill her? That's really what you're telling me?" Jacob furrowed his brows and sighed out loud. He could not believe that a being of the Regulator's magnitude could not give him a solution to such a simple problem.
"Well, you can ignore the matter. You would understand later." The Regulator spoke again. "It was lovely to hear from you, Jacob. If there are no more questions, then I will take my leave."
"I have no further questions, Your Honor. Frankly, I would just like a peaceful night's rest. I need to be sharp for tomorrow."
"Granted."
With that, the Regulator was gone in a flash, the same way he had appeared. Jacob stayed awake, racking his brain for ways to stop Elyssara from impeding his progress in the tower. But after coming up with about ten million ideas, he gave up on every single one of them and just decided to do it the old-fashioned way.
