Chapter 8 : The True Nature?
After the shared laughter, Rasa felt more comfortable around Arashi.
Arashi invited him in. His home looked quite organised, which was surprising to Rasa. He really expected a messy place, but Everything had its order and proper place. After inviting him, Arashi made a Shadow Clone with one hand sign. He was quite surprised to see a similar Jutsu in an unfamiliar environment. The clone had two hands instead of one, which was also a surprise.
Arashi sent the Shadow Clone to the kitchen for making tea and invited him to the living room to sit. They ended up sitting opposite each other in the tatami on the floor.
"Here kid, give it a try." Arashi produced a small paper from his pouch and gave it to him. Rosaa accepted the paper. It was a square white paper which looked slightly rigid. He quickly associated it with the Chakra Paper he had seen in the Anime.
"I'm quite sure that you can sense the Chakra in your body already. You inherited some of Hikari's talent in sensing so it won't be that difficult. Every cell in your body contains your Chakra, but you can feel it mainly around the navel area. Try sensing it carefully and then making a connection with it. Just close your eyes and try."
Rasa listened carefully and closed his eyes to feel the Chakra inside him. He quickly rediscovered the warmth around his belly. He tried to make a connection by mentally touching it but the warmth danced calmly not minding his attempt, which made him frown.
"Kid.. don't try so hard. The energy, the Chakra, is ultimately yours formed from your yin and yang. Just will it, it will move. You are not separate from your Chakra. So don't view it as separate from you. Just try giving it a direction, it will flow naturally."
Arashi's words made him retry. This time not forcing it, just willing it to move towards his right side. And it moved! It followed his will without making a fuss, like it was just doing what is natural, which made him smile.
"I see you got the hang of it now, try pushing it towards the Chakra paper I gave you — and see the magic."
He followed Arashi's instructions and pushed the Chakra towards the paper, this time his eyes were wide open to see what will happen next.
The moment his Chakra touched the paper it got cut in half. In the first half, half got wet and half caught fire. The later part got fully crumbled into dust which made him realize his affinities, which were water, wind, fire and earth. He had all affinities except thunder, which was more than he expected he would have.
He heard Arashi let out a low whistle from in front and looked at him inquisitively. "You have a lot of affinities.. kid, which is genuinely impressive. Usually people have one affinity from birth. Even most Jonin start with just one, then they train a second to become a true Jonin. So I can say you are lucky to be born with four"
Rasa was quite happy hearing this. In the show too there are only a few characters who had all five affinities. Having four is more than good, but he still had a doubt. "So why does half of the paper turn to dust when chakra gets injected? Does this mean my Earth is stronger than water and fire?" He was very curious about this because the difference was obvious.
" well..The simple answer is yes, in some specific cases. When you infused Chakra, the first reaction was from wind then from earth. This indicates a very strong wind and earth chakra nature affinity. Every person has an inclination towards a particular chakra nature. Even people with multiple natures like you have their own strong and weak natures. For you specifically, using wind and earth Jutsu will be a lot easier for you than fire and water that's it "
This made Rasa also think about a white haired lecher who supposedly copied a thousand Jutsu's and only used lightning in major combats — having more is not always a good thing.
The Shadow Clone bringing out the tea from the kitchen brought him out of his musings. The Clone served the tea and promptly dismissed itself creating white smoke.
The conversation stopped there as they both began enjoying the tea. It was still early morning and the tea made him more awake. The cold of the morning contrasting the warmth of the tea made him relax somehow.
Arashi was also enjoying his tea with eyes closed taking slow unhurried sips but out of the blue, he asked a question.
"Kid, do you know what affinities your parents had?"
He was surprised but replied he didn't…. Hikari never used any Jutsu's in front of him. She always acted as an ordinary woman.
"Then let me tell you, Your father had Earth and Water natures like most Uzumakis, with Earth being his primary affinity, while your mother had Wind and Yin as her nature. I think you inherited both your parents' affinities, maybe Fire is your true nature, ha…ha."
This brought back some memories for Rasa — memories of a young boy from a different world who was once curious and inquisitive, who once lived fully in every moment, one who always burned with passion. Then the fuel just ran out, fire always needs more fuel to burn; when the fuel runs out there is maybe only charcoal and smoke. He let out a deep sigh with the rising steam from the tea cup, and let the past dissolve. Never again will he let his heart die, he promised himself. But the yin may also be part of his true nature; the light has no meaning without darkness. This realization made him relax more. He decided to enjoy the quiet moment without thinking so much.
