The rest hour passed quickly.
Serah didn't move from Kai's side in the companions' area. Glued to his shoulder. Without talking much — the trial's tests required concentration and Serah was maintaining it.
Mara from the other end of the area looked at the field.
"The next one is territory."
"How do you know," Kai said.
"I asked the evaluators during the break."
"You asked them directly."
"Yes."
"In wolf."
"In human. The evaluators are in human form during breaks. It's easier."
Kai looked at her.
"Mara."
"Yes."
"Anything else you're doing that I don't know about."
"Several things."
"Are you going to tell me."
"If they're useful to you, yes."
Kai sighed.
Lira smiled — with the fang visible — and said nothing.
