I grew calmer as my due date drew closer.
On the contrary, Zahid’s anxiety was worsening with each passing day. He was really on edge because he had done too much research into pregnancy and childbirth. Zahid studied it as if it was his profession, and thanks to that, he came to understand just how dangerous childbirth could be. He realized that my life really was at risk.
I quickly recovered from my morning sickness with the care of everyone in the Grand Duke’s castle and I was maintaining a good level of health, which meant that I was in perfect condition to give birth.
Not only a famous physician, but an expert midwife also reassured Zahid that he didn’t need to worry. That still didn’t work. He had calculated the likelihood of all possible outcomes and inevitably, he thought that I was in great danger. The fact that he couldn’t control the situation seemed to scratch at his nerves.
