Side Story Chapter 12. The Dangerous Grand Duke and Duchess of the South (12)
Zahid and I fell down from the sky to the Grand Duke’s castle.
The knights and guards that had been standing guard came flocking toward us with their swords, spears, and arrows at the ready, thinking that we were intruders. The moment they confirmed it was me and Zahid, they were left dumbstruck.
“…Your Grace?”
Zahid responded by waving them off with a small gesture of his hand and, with me in his arms, led us inside the castle.
The guards belatedly ran over to the bell tower to announce the return of the Grand Duke. Upon hearing the bell, the castle employees came rushing over.
“Your Grace!”
“S-Sir Zahid…”
Our unexpected arrival caused everyone to rush about like ants caught in the rain.
I looked over at the crowd of people and realized that Hirkan wasn’t there. I thought that he had perhaps gone straight to the capital to find Cheryl and Ethan after our little talk.
