Zahid usually had good gut feelings about things.
While he may have been emotionless and cold, he was quick to pick up on how other people were feeling. He was so good at it that sometimes, he could understand what was on my mind before even I could.
His almost animalistic instincts kicked in at that moment too, as he noticed that I seemed to have caught the attention of the Prince of Bellocia.
To be fair, you didn’t even need to be as quick-witted as Zahid to pick up on the subtle shift in the atmosphere. Even with my slightly poor eyesight, I could see the fond look in the Prince’s eyes.
The Bellocia Kingdom used to be an ally of the Vahaluun Empire. They were also one of the very few countries that expressed their upset when Zahid overthrew the Empire and established his own. Prince Everton was not shy about expressing his distaste for Zahid.
