Zoe Rhodes tentatively tried turning the bedroom doorknob.
"Huh?"
'It's not locked!'
The door made a soft click in the dead of night as Zoe Rhodes carefully peeked her head out.
The living room light was on and the windows were open; she could even hear the ceaseless traffic outside.
In less than ten minutes, she had given herself a quick tour of Donovan Donovan's home and summarized her findings:
This was a large, single-story apartment located near Concordia Avenue. It wasn't on a very high floor. The layout was a bit messy, and the decor was gaudy—the complete opposite of Nathan Bennett's minimalist, Nordic style. The sheer number of colors was dizzying, like an artist's overturned palette.
In addition, the balcony was spacious, perfect for exercise—so big you could even ride a bike around on it. There was also a swimming pool, but the water was a bit chilly, unsuitable for a swim in this weather.
