Although Evelyn Grant was heartbroken, but...
She was still rational.
She didn't want to become warped by hatred. At the very least, Evelyn Grant felt that the love Ryan Sterling had shown her wasn't entirely a lie.
"Evidence?" Julian Sterling scoffed. "That so-called evidence could all be fake, too! Since Ryan Sterling had everything planned out, he must have tampered with every step! Otherwise, why couldn't my men find a single thing when I sent them to investigate?"
Evelyn Grant looked up at him, her lips curling into a sneer. "Did you ever even consider investigating?"
"..."
"When Jane Jacobs died, you never once thought about finding evidence. You just wanted me to go to the grave with her!"
Evelyn even suspected that if Julian had found evidence back then, he might not have revealed it at all!
He might have buried that evidence forever, just to prove that his actions and his suspicions were justified.
That was just the kind of person Julian Sterling was.
