Chapter 10 - Loan

With the blue sedan, they would reach the upper inner ring of the Chambers City in an hour and half. They were currently at the outer edge of the upper outer ring.

The upper outer ring was where the residential area was. Since it was wider and took up more space than the upper inner ring and the lower ring—where soldiers trained and adventurer guild could be found as it was closer to the wilderness—the residential area was divided into districts with alphabet and numbers for it to function like a mathematical coordinate system, making it nearly impossible for residents or services to get lost.

In total, the population of Chambers City was twenty-two million. With the previous and current mayor's effort, the city was not overpopulated and the citizens' satisfaction was high.

It was also why the Mayor was deeply loved—the media didn't want to antagonize him or his instructions to them, powerful people living in Chambers City befriended him instead of being hostile to him, and the citizens wouldn't dare to be keyboard warriors in social media where they would mock him.

When people and their leader coordinated with each other, the city flourished.

Of course, the city was not entirely utopic. The death rate was inevitably higher than the birth rate. It was simply because of the beasts' invasion and space rifts' frequency to tear through outside of the Chambers' City were becoming frequent.

It was also the primary reason the citizens would listen to their Mayor for he was the strongest among them.

They did not want to make an enemy out of a person where their life entirely depended on him.

During the trip, Felix asked Krisha, "I think I have found a way to restore my sword. Can you help me find these materials?"

Felix typed the materials last night on his phone. He had really forgotten to ask the Mayor about it for two reasons—he was shocked by the Mayor's arrangement of his future for the next two months and his mind instantly discarded the thought of asking the mayor for help on obtaining the materials out of shyness.

Krisha accepted his phone while frowning. She looked at the materials and asked, "These… Why won't you look for them in the Beastore?"

Felix grabbed his face and sighed. He replied, "You don't even recognize those materials… Of course, I have looked into them in the Beastore, but my account level wasn't enough to get access to high level materials like those."

Krisha was stunned. She read the materials again and was dumbfounded. She finally recognized them.

"Y-You… Most of them came from a Unique rank beast… and the Cloud Carp, it's at the Unique 5th tier!

Are you really sure that your sword needs these materials to restore its body? Just what rank is that at its peak?"

Felix was silent. As much as he wanted to reveal the rank of his sword, he decided to hide it.

Instead of answering Krisha, he asked the Guide after realizing that the materials rank was way lower than the peak rank of the sword.

"Do you think these materials are enough to restore the body to the peak rank?"

[No. That would require legendary rank materials and even a blacksmith on that level. The current materials required will bring the sword to the Unique 5th Tier level.]

Felix's eyes widened. He was still in awe of the fact that once he restored the sword with the current materials, it would be on the same level as the Frostwing Penguin's peak potential.

He unknowingly dazed at the Frostwing Penguin on Krisha's lap, sleeping peacefully.

"Are you listening to me?" Krisha asked in an annoyed tone.

Felix was startled awake. He glanced at Krisha and smiled awkwardly. "Its peak rank is in Unique Rank 5th Tier."

Krisha's eyes widened. She was frozen for a while.

Even Lucia, who was listening quietly, was taken aback. She also did not expect that a rusty old dull sword's peak rank was on the same peak potential of her miss' pet.

Krisha asked in a shivering tone, "Are you kidding me? That alone would sell the sword with 10,000,000 credits!"

Felix's eyes widened. He trembled. "Really?!"

Krisha was dumbfounded by his reaction. She leaned back on her seat, caressed her pet with her right hand, while massaging her glabella with her left hand.

She said, "You are not thinking of selling the sword, won't you? Have you forgotten it's a summon? Unless you die, the sword is owned by you—through a soul contract!"

Realizations dawned on Felix as he leaned back on his seat and sighed.

The Guide's voice echoed in his mind.

[I can't believe you are easily swayed by some money for you to think of giving up a legendary sword.]

Felix shrugged. He replied in his mind, "Well, I can buy it back as soon as I make some money."

[Don't you know what "loan" is? Even in the Immortal World, immortals getting a loan is common.]

Felix sighed. "If only getting a loan is easy here, I wouldn't have thought of selling it."

Just as he was distracted conversing with the Guide, Krisha glanced at him and asked, "Say, what do you think about getting a loan?"

Felix sighed even more. He was about to reply, when Krisha immediately followed up, "I mean, not through any agency or organization, but from my father's pocket.

If only I had a lot of money, I would have given you a loan."

Felix was utterly surprised. He trembled. "W-We should not let the mayor get involved."

Krisha shook her head and replied, "No, it's fine, really. Also, why did you just tell me now about your sword's true rank? In the first place, how did you know that the materials you gave were what your sword needed to restore its body?

Are you secretly a blacksmith?"

Felix shook his head. He was already prepared for this kind of question.

He replied, "Well, this sword is a summon, it has a spirit. I've been communicating with it through meditation and just learned about the materials."
