The first light of dawn appeared behind the mountains.By then, the camp had already been abandoned.Lyra and the others stood before the entrance to the Trial Pass, staring at a narrow path carved into the side of the volcano.There was no gate.No guards.Only a wall of black stone covered in ancient symbols.The symbols began glowing as the sun rose.Garrick stopped several steps away."This is where my journey ended."Rylan looked at the narrow path ahead."And you're sure there's no easier route?"Garrick gave him a dry smile."If there were, I wouldn't have spent twenty years warning people about this
