Roman waved down a cab, and we hopped in. He directed the cab to a spot in Brooklyn. Sitting back against the seat, I gazed out the window at all the buildings we passed. It would soon be light, and the city would have a completely different look.
At our destination, Roman paid for our ride, and we exited the cab.
We were on the edge of the water, which appeared dark and black. Walking along the shoreline, the city was quiet, the only sounds being the water lapping gently next to the pier.
"Hannah, what do you think of a jungle theme for the nursery?" Roman asked.
I laughed. "So now you're the interior designer?" "I was just thinking we should make it fun," he said.
"I don't know. A lot of people do jungle. I think we should do something - more us."
"Definitely. You're right," he agreed.
